Firstly, I really like the maps in this game! Lots of thought and care went into them, and it shows. many attack paths, interesting tactical options, etc. Even though the community has dialed in two or three favorite ways to play each map, the maps themselves offer great gameplay, and they look great!
A few ideas and concepts that I have rattling around in my head:
1) Mechbay spawn points. Instead of your mech starting up in the open somewhere, your mech starts up in its own niche within a mechbay. Maybe the team's company has 3 seperate mechbays, that way you don't have a traffic jam as the whole company tries to exit via one single exit. This would make sense any time a map has a "military base" portion. Say, like the old Palace Gates map from Mechwarrior:4 Vengeance. Additionally, you could have a grounded Dropship as a terrain feature in any old map, and the team could spawn in mechbays within the dropship.
2) A swamp map. Lots of twisting waterways, low islands clogged with vegetation, rain, a few more substantial islands with hills so the snipers have something to do. Maybe even a waterway or two that is deep enough to submerge a whole lance for surprise attacks!
