No, that's taken care of in tonnage. You spend more tonnage in a JJ for a 90 ton mech than you do for a 30 ton mech. If they bump the heat on JJs to be more in tune with TT values it would make a world of difference, not hurt lights using them for mobility and elusiveness, yet still allow weapons to be used (albeit it at a MUCH slower rate or overheat) while JJing.

That's all that really needs to eb done with them. JJs are non-functional in any area other than going straight up or in a straight line (not including turning which isn't forward "movement") while your momentum carries you forward.

False.

A mech only ever need install 1 JJ to be effect in MW:O This renders the varying weight moot. 2 tons out of 90 is nothing. 1 ton out of 80 on my Victors is nothing.

Fix jets to require the stock quantity for effectiveness. Period.

It would be hard to effectively use tonnage limits in pugs. The guy who just bought an atlas doesnt want to be told no match found because he is in too heavy of a mech.

Fix SRM's and scale JJ in a linear manner.

1 Jump Jet gets you X height, Y thrust and Z burn time. 2 Jump Jets will Double's the values and so on.

The Jump Jets in this game suck.

The only 4 really bad jump snipers are the CTF-3D, SHD's, VTR's and HGN's, and jump jets are the reason. The give little to no bonus effects for improved thrust having more then one and their current thrust and how much height you can get is too high.

JJ idea, that you need more of those and so will sacrifice more tons. I think it is a good idea, but I am not sure that it is enough to fix the whole issue.

Actually it probably would atleast for 12-mans. Otherwise they should implement a battle value system. The mech would get a base value. weapons load out would change this value.

You do know that tonnage limits are already inbound, right?

lol. You terribads have been saying stuff like that since the beginning of closed beta. "I can't wait till they nerf ________ and for all the meta (wrong use of the word "meta") abusers to start crying!!11111" We're going to dominate you no matter what gets nerfed in this game. We've used brawlers, lasers, direct fire, and every single mech and weapon system in it. The irony is that the nerf puts a huge stick in the spokes of the terribads that use FOTM mechs as a crutch and not to their full potential.

To put my ac20 round where your cockpit is, I'll even throw this in. I, as are all the members of the House of Lords, am openly endorsing the abolition of poptarting from this game, as well as direct fire if the community sees fit. We are guaranteeing that you will either not see us in game because you're absolutely terrible at this game and have low Elo, or you will get steamrolled as hard as you always have.

There is nothing Terribad about anyone stating the obvious. The meta at this time is jumpy snipey. Personally I think the whole meta issue is a big crutch for those whom cant brawl well or simply refuse to try anything other than the "easy button" I hold jump snipers in the same regard as LRM boaters.

Tonnage limits might at best mask a problem, not fix it.

And all it will do is make people likely to mix lights and assaults.

It does not fix the problems we currently have.

Look, I think we can all agree that it should require more than 1 JJ to get a 90,80,or he'll even 70 ton walking tank off the ground. Make me make choices in my highlander. If I have to spend 6 or 8 tons to get this monster off the ground suddenly I am forced to make sacrifices in weapons, armor, heat sink and engine size. Suddenly the mech is waaay less efficient

More choices is good for the game. Not worse

Honestly, I get torn up a lot more by Victors and Jenners than Highlanders. And Spiders are unkillable, even when they're shut down and overheated.

Paul, I really don't find the Highlanders to be a problem. I also don't think any JJ's are the problem. I think the weapons management is the problem. Weapons should be classed by damage as class 1, class 2, class 3 and then the chassis only allow a specific number of class 1, class 2, class 3 weapons on it. This 'Nerfing" of weapons and chassis is totally not needed if you limit the amount of high damage weapons on a chassis. Again I have no problem destroying Highlanders with my current stock of mechs in a 1v1 or when I get a good team with me in a team v team. In fact I find the Highlander to be a big POS I refuse to buy and think of it as an easy kill. Just saying....see ya in TS

They've been saying that since early last year.

The main issue is pop tarting correct? Well maybe they should put weapons charging on PPC's instead of guass there you go.

Just a thought .... PPC and AC's generally rule this game. So, why did LLs ERLLs and the useless LPL's get nerfed by ghost heat in the same manner as PPCs?

It would help, if I am insane and choose to use LL that I can sensibly Alpha 3 LL with no penalty. That would help a bit on weapon choice.

lol this is funny... this is what happens when Jump Jets in their current functionality are lame, unfun, and the most undynamic JJ's in a Mech Warrior game ever. They aren't even close to the functionality of Battle Tech. I could care less if people are drifting up in the air and firing shots, is that what the Devs and players are really complaining about? Its the fact that what they currently can do is all they can do, because the functionality is boring and not well thought out in the first place. They can be nerfed or buffed in their current format, it still doesn't change what they do.
