Thanks!
As mentioned by Recon, they are both great mechs
- with Ilya having several 3x ballistic builds: I favor 3LBAC on mine - 3UAC is also popular, 3guass has a 45 point alpha strike, which is devestating.... 2AC5 1AC20.... the variations are near endless.
- Having said that I like my Firebrand at least as much - I got it for one build, and have not experimented much with others: The Rifleman 2AC5 2LL 2ML - saving my Cbills for a 3rd Jager so I can get it mastered, cause it is already a beast.

I'd say the DS, except the non-champion versions are generally better. And that's from someone who's had a DS since it was released. I actually earn more money in the 9B on average than the DS- and, arguably the 9S is a better mech still.

Hope the servers stay up, lol. Would hate for this to be the Hail Mary before bankruptcy.
Sorry for the negative vibes...something just seems a little off.

It really depends on whether you like cannons or energy. You get more cannons with a Muromets. A tiny bit more armor too as a max. But the Muromets only has high energy points. The arms are waist-high and that feels like miles below the cockpit.
Meanwhile the Firebrand has really high mounted cannons and energy -- great for peeking over hills and cliffs. Its also got some belly guns too.
Of the two, Muromets is more combat ready right out of the box with a loadout that can survive the fact it has standard heatsinks. The Firebrand's gonna suffer with its default loadout even though it comes with double heatsinks. It's just too hot and the lore-friendly starting armor!

I poke fun at PGI, tongue firmly planted within cheek, but I still must take advantage of that 50% off discount. Thanks PGI... but could you please prioritize some of those points I made in my kidding-rant?
I know, right? I bought the DS and twice now while trying to tweak the loadout the server has disconnected. I think I'm going to run it stock, lol.

Good job PGI; even when you put things on sale you screw your customers over. What is the point of putting identical items on sale so close together if you aren't going to use the same discount?
