Sorry. But I can't see a logical method anywhere on how to do this for behaviour in game.

Basically, I was just in a match with some sicko who was claiming to be a child molester.
Whether or not he was joking I don't really care. Its not funny in the slightest.

Where do I report this kind of behaviour?

If available add the following informations:
- Name of offender
- type of offense

- date, time and timezone
- other players involved (witnesses)
- screenshots
- links to video or other material that will help the GMs to resolve the situation.

Asked and answered, but FTR some people will "confess" in public, seeking validation for their beliefs. All it takes is some idiot to say Yeah, me too!! and they take that as a sign they are not perverts, but just misunderstood.

So report any such actions, in person or in a game. It just might be real and not just some troll.

To be honest, it really should be easier than this and able to do in game.

The behaviour is not going to improve if it's onerous for adverse activity to be reported. People just won't do it in the main and cross it off their mind while the perpetrators just keep on keeping on.

Seconding this - I get pretty absent minded, and more often than not, I forget what it was that I had come to the website to do, or get sidetracked in the forums and then forget.
(actually I do not think I have yet to successfully report any of the garbage I have seen IN game.....)

I've totally started reporting pilots who power down 11 mechs down on Skirmish in some obscure corner.

It actually does violate the TOS and it's incredibly annoying.

Onerous? Hyperbole much?

Take screen shots, and after the match or once a week etc go into the folder and move the screen shots you took for fun to a sub-folder and then report the rest. Then delete them and you have an empty folder ready for the next set.

If you want the behavior to stop, then help to stop it. Bitching on the forums about how hard it is does NOT count as helping stop it. It's just a way to salve your conscience so you can tell yourself you helped and move on. it's why the world has gone to hell. People ***** to their friends rather than vote or take any steps to fix the problems.

Nick. I don't think its much of an exaggeration to suggest that its too lengthy a process to report players behaviour in-game at the moment.

I imagine a large majority of the community simply don't report players because they either don't know how or it is in fact just a lengthy process.

Come on now. You are bitching at someone on the forums for bitching...

yup... end of match report button with buttons for the "usual" reason

player rating as well will be nice... but that is another mine field altogether...

Actually no, it is not a breach of the ToS, there are threads on it and its fine according to PGI.

Why are you so mad man?

It is cumbersome atm, it could be improved. No one b****d, no one moaned, it is what it is. I didn't start the post so why all the hate?

If you read instead of assumed, my comment was about what most people would do, not what I do, so why take a shot at me? If english isn't your first language I apoligise, but honestly please read before your make a fool of yourself.

PGI have actually said it's on their to do list to improve (ie, they know it is not ideal) so why do you want to be in the minority?

I really don’t see much bad behavior in game. Maybe four or five times that I can recall over the last however long it has been since open beta started. FWIW, the in-game reporting idea won’t fly I don’t think, because it WILL be abused to the extent that it will be, for all practical purposes, unenforceable.

While extreme behavior should be reported (by extreme, I mean unhinged, like that cited above), I think most of the time the other “shouters” just want attention. Ignore them long enough and they will go away when they realize they can’t get a response. These type of folks could also be effectively squelched if PGI would just give us an “ignore” command feature for the in-game text chat...a feature that every other game I can think of has had for at least the last 10 or more years. E.g.: “/+ignore BigMouth” and you will ne’er see BigMouth’s mouthings in game forevermore, until you cancel it with “/-ignore BigMouth”. No reason this feature shouldn’t and can’t be in the game.

TKers really don’t bother me. I just shut the mech down, let them get their jollies, and the team is then down one player from the start. Exit and start another game. Put newbies in their own queue for their first 100 or so games, in a queue where FF is off by default. That would help squelch the disgruntled Creep Squad that is out there trying to make the game as horrid as possible for the new player.

Finally, limit the creation of alt accounts to a reasonable number per timeframe, to prevent continual “re-upping” by the Creep Squad that is out there trying to bully newbies.

Just my 2 c-bills worth. Take it or leave it.

This.

New players should have their own queue until they reach a certain XP level or after so many matches. I'd say 100 is a bit steep, maybe 25-50?

Good idea if you ask me. Then the long time players wouldn't have to put up with so much crap.

Hmmm but how to save noobies from having to put up with so much long-timer crap?....... especially the shooting, and the killing, and the winning.

It actually doesn't violate anything as long as they engaged in combat at some point. PGI once talked about adding in game report button but as it seems they aren't too concerned with such issues, they haven't bothered. So as you can see how serious PGI takes the issue, just remember that when you take the effort to bother.

All that you have to do is take a quick screen shot as long as you can see the chat. If the chat disappears, simply hit your chat button and it will reappear. Then, immediately after the drop open the mwo forum page, if it's not already open, click 'support' and the link will appear. Type your message in between drops and include a screenshot. It's really not that big a deal. Also, I have noticed a marked improvement in player behavior over what it was like in closed beta. Also, I make sure to let the player know that I will report them. This does one of two things. 1) If they are smart they will apologize and cease and desist. (Not very likely actually) or 2) It will prompt them to type even more remarks of the type that I was threatening to report them over, which I think of as a win for me and the game. The sooner we get these yahoos banned the better.
