I guess this topic would go in this forum?
Lately it seems that at random times I am receiving damage without any visible or audible cues that it is happening - for example - I can go from just fine to critical damage to loosing an arm for what seems like no reason because there was no accompanying "boom" or "zaat" or "dub dub dub" or "plink" - basically I am being shot and I don't know it because I am not seeing or hearing any damage feedback (other than the nice lady saying critical damage) that it is happening.
Other times all is well and it works like it used to work.
Has anyone else noticed this behavior?

yup, i've noticed that, too. But it's there for a long time.
I guess it is connected to lag and HSR. Sometimes i see people shoot in my general direction but miss me by several meters and i still take damage to the arm or leg, sometimes even sidetorsos.
I guess the server says i am a few meters behind, so it registers the hit, the other player also sees me behind and then the damage just gets apllied, after the hit registration.
Sometimes it's really annoying, because you don't get any hit feedback, i don't want to know how often i got shot without even noticing it and just stay where i am like a moron.

This has been an issue before but I lost an entire arm in my shadowhawk with no... anything. I have heard complaints about HSR being borked I have seen quite a few lighter mechs stop mid animation only to appear 50m away and the entire 100 damage I put into his ghost model missing from the paper doll. I have a very low ping (less than 20 most times, thanks university internet) but it's I've been in fights and the game has screeched to a halt and then placed me somewhere else (usually dead). I thought maybe it was my rig (even though everything is more than enough to run everything max). I did all the usual, you know the drill, a few games later a jager is walking 5m from the ground and then appear behind me as his ac 40 build destroys my CT. So bad gurl...

Yes. Specially in HPG manifold it sometimes suprises when you don't hear anykind of hitting sounds, and suddenly half of your mech just explodes off. Must be very careful to follow your own mechs paperdoll to realize if someone is shooting at you.

The HPG Manifold sound muffling is, sadly, working as designed for now. It should not mute direct hits on your mech, but it does. This was reported many times.
There is also a bug that makes the sound muffling tech trigger on other maps. I have not witnessed it in case of hits, just my weapon shots, but maybe the issue is more general.
Separately, there is a known issue with HSR: In some situations, you take damage after a shot apparently misses you. You dodge and your client shows you dodging, but damage happens and is applied according to the server. Since it is too late to trigger damage VFX for you, it does not happen -- only your paper doll is updated.

I agree that it's been around for a while. However, I will say it feels like it's become much worse in the last couple weeks.
