we all focus fire by calling targets A-Z
IFF jammer would probably lead to too much FF if brought in ala mech4 style.
So, what about having IFF jammer instead cause scrambling of the a-z codes r'andomly, so if your mech has an IFF jammer your a-z designation randomly changes?
this would help reduce focus fire capability of pre-mades, sow confusion, and give a cool new feature to the game and make IFF jammer an interesting addition.

Feels like the patch already did that...

Lol. I figured as much.
It's annoying..calling out a designation, only to have it suddenly change as another 'mech dies somewhere.
How would you implement it though? If you make it too easy to bring..then people will always use it. But at the same time if you make it too difficult to bring no one will use it. All it does is add a little confusion, so it'll be hard to justify when you start trading out things you could really use in a match.

While it will reduce focus fire by premades or good teammates, I forsee 4-man premades running 4 mechs of the same build and camo with 4 IFF jammers. Quintuplets of death!! XD

If it was a module, it'd still be a tricky choice. or as a crit tonnage taking item like ECM I suppose. I figured as a module it'd be a tough choice vs adv zoom, arty/sensers, etc.I mean, it'd be helpful, but it wouldnt make targetting you impossible, just confusing for pre-mades, which woul help level the playing field vs pugs somewhat and cut down focus fire easiness.
i could really see it helping to cut down focus fire in 12v12 matches if a bunch of guys took it in unison, and that's a good thing.

Alright. Let's do it.
It shouldn't be too hard to do - PGI just has to figure out how they did it with the recent patch and repackage it a little bit!
I want my IFF jammer!

Wonder if this would be good, not so much as a module, but as an environmental hazard on an alternate map.... HPG Manifold: Solar Flare or Terra Therma: Eruption. Something that can cause disturbances in the force... I mean electronics....

Bumpin' this. Cuz it's a good idea.
And good ideas deserve bumps.
