Does anyone remember flipping through this paper book, in order to find a code that would start the game? Now THOSE were the days.

Very annoying, but a section always caught my eye, and I sometimes learned a new trick/ability in the game though...

They get money from nvidia to have that, not sure about crytek - but it's probably a contractual obligation.

Do you remember how before we had to delete a few space bar characters on the password? (or whatever key you're pressing to skip the intros)

Well... true to form ghetto band-aid... use 'esc' so that it doesn't add a character to the password.

Impressed?

except theres a delay now so we are constantly exposed to the nvidia ad.

i refuse to buy nvidia because they force this ad on me :D

Splash screens are usually contractually obligated, and are also used to mask unavoidable load time.

Even so, with most games you can delete the *.bik files with no negative effects. I do this for most games I play, eg Skyrim. Haven't even tried for MWO yet. Does it have its intro clips as separate *biks?

Most know this trick and many have looked at how to bypass the MWO splash screens but there is no way, except pressing some keys and even there, there are some delays that get annoying with time.

Ok this is just my opinion, (and almost everyone I have talked with it about agrees) to help improve game play and over all player happiness. 1.) mech lab still needs a few more overhauls for starters "an un-equip button, the ability to see all hard points and exp. for all mech's, the ability to see your c-bills/MC/Exp. W/O having to go into mech lab. 2.) allow for a real training ground, I.E. .. A.I. controlled Mech's that return fire, the ability to create up to a full single lance and have a difficulty LV (easy, hard and vet) and an option to assault a single point or defend against a wave for the purpose of learning to work together as a lance and to improve over all player game play. simply a small map, up to 4 pilots (either friends or A.I. Pilots) ... No Exp./C-Bill/ELO. Gain. To many players as it is now have no clue how to actually work properly as a group/lance (Not locking targets, Chasing squirrel, coordination) and it can be a real issue, Unskilled pilots that either just shoot at what ever moves or Just in general show a lack of general game and group mechanics. 3.) lastly that I can think of is adding a single and co-op playable Story line Quest mode for added content as PVP can get old real quick. allow for C-Bill, EXP, and Salvage gain as well as possible mech pick-ups if all objectives are completed. All these options and opinions have been greatly discussed and would also generate a larger player base. Lets face it, you can only kill the same guys so many times on the same maps using the same heavy/Alpha/Run hot or Die builds before you no longer find the game interesting anymore. add that to the up coming community war. and adding a few special mechs like the Uziel, Blood asp, Vulture, Bush whacker, Cauldron Born, Mauler and Shadowcat. None of these Mechs are over powered or horribly over balanced and could be gained by either a Story mode or simply adding them as you have the other mechs. Last but Not least ... i'd like to be able to see what size engine is in a mech and to see what mod's I have w/o having to buy the mech or go into load out / Mods to simply see that as well as not having to select which game mode to go into ever time I launch. I liked having the ability to set it to Assault or Skirmish or Conquest and to just hit launch instead of having to go through 20 million tabs ..... ok, that may be a little over, but I feel like I have to go through that many tabs to get everything done. Simple and balance is good, I'd be willing to bet the House on the fact that you fix the few small issues you have plus add this with what your already adding in the Clans and Community War .... you'd be the next Big MMORPG with a player base almost as big as World of Warcraft .. before they became the big Joke they are now.

Just some Food for Thought. Feel free to Reply and see what you actually get.

How about making a reconnect function that brings u back into the game instead of making u quit on ur team with every minor dc/lag/server issue u might get? That sounds more important and we can worry about the intros later.

I don't get it... you're trying to reduce your time to load into the game? I can bet this game loads faster for 95% of the community faster than their PC boots up... the 5% would be a rough guess as to how many players utilize an SSD for their main system drive. I voted No btw LOL! Have patience... every game has a loading sequence with various sponsored logos and such.

If you took time to read, I was saying a few things... the skipping process is worse than with previous UI, and was giving examples of alternatives to satify long time players who do not care anymore of what those screens show. When you play almost every evening for a year, don't you think it would be a welcome solution?

Then my proposition to immediatly bring the logon screen BEFORE any splash screen and with credentials decide what to present to the user.

I like how you voted NO and laugh of this... anyway, to each his own I guess.

I laughed because many games have these splash screens to promote the game producers, the preferred GPU of the developers... and to allow certain lines of code to load while the splash screens do their thing. I read the whole damn thread... so don't assume I didn't read anything. You're basically upset that over the course of so many times playing the game... you have to deal with the splash screens. I've been playing this since the first tickets to Closed Beta were issued... all I'm saying is have patience. Plenty of games have this load process... do you complain to them too regarding such an opinion?

No, I spend all my little free time on MWO. While it's not a priority, nothing wrong to innovate regarding how splash screens are presented to their precious users. Others may follow...

Well keep fighting to see if it makes a change... I bid you luck and good hunting on MWO dude... but don't expect the Devs to adjust this as they've let other more important things like hit detection slide into the background.
