If you don't want to wait, you can go on mektek and try mercs out for free to introduce yourself to the system. Beta is not to demo the game, it's for helping find the bugs. Just the fact that Piranha is releasing so many beta keys to the general public is a gift.

Myself I decided to buck up for the founders since all the game play videos look sweet.

went with elite but i do like the fact it will let me upgrade. only thing holding me back is not having tried the product in any capacity, in addition to limited information about regional servers/accounts and how that will all work in the end.

What is the cutoff date for purchase of the founders package? I know it will be before the 7th of August, just curious as to the specifics?

Minimum was four weeks after launch of the Founders offer.

It's been a long wait since I stopped playing at Mechwarrior Mercenaries.
I hope advance/Founder payments are put to good use and they listen to there players/pilots in the future.

Thinking about picking up a founder's package, I loved playing the tabletop game eons ago. My issue is that it'll be several months after the early access before I actually get to play. I don't want to lose out on the perks by waiting, and the in-game $$ makes the cost reasonable. However with the premium account time, would I burn it all up before I got a chance to play, or would it be like other games where my time doesn't start until I put in the activation code for the live version of the game?

No, there is not going to be a wipe. Its been stated several times already on other forums. A simple search will yeild the answer for you guys. Everything will be save for the founders, and all your stuff will carry over.

You can by filtering for Legendary Founder and so on.

Legendary Founders: 6,741 @ $120 ea. = $808,920
