Before the update, I had:
2 LRM 20 + Artemis IV
2 LRM 5 + Artemis IV
2 LRM 5
Now I have 2 LRM 20 and 2 LRM 5.

My CPLT-C4 still has Artemis IV, I still have 6 Tons of LRM + Artemis 4 (and 5 Tons of regular LRM) ammo.

(I don't really want to have to spend 1.52 million C-Bills on a set of launchers I've already paid for, which would also eat a large chunk of my bills I've been saving towards buying my last Catapult).

Is there a way to fix this?
I'd like it if there was, as currently it either renders my C4 practically unusable (killing 1/3 of my mech pool), or significantly sets back the purchase of my next Catapult and Eliting/Mastering the mech.

After asking ingame I've been told that they were seperated? What was the reason foir this?

Why Can't I find a relevent patch note? (maybe I'm blind)

I now have to rebuy ALL my launchers? I never used the defult ones..... Get rid of those and give me back my artemis!

EDIT: Found a 4 month old forum post http://mwomercs.com/...ork-to-artemis/

Perhaps should have been a foot note for the recent patch? Paul says the Artemis launchers already in the invintory will be saved and we'll have to buy the standerd launchers again... Ok I don't mind.

But it seems the opposite was done. All my Artemis launchers are gone now, and the standerds are in the lab.

Can someone explain what I'm not getting here?

They had announced that they would change the way the mechanic worked from a simple upgrade to the mech to a mechanic where an upgrade to Artemis would allow you to buy either SRM-Artemis or LRM-Artemis launchers. so basically just a shuffling of the cost from the upgrade to the individual launchers.

I just wasn't aware that they would implement it with this patch?

Aparently it was put in this patch

From the Link I posted
  • The cost of upgrading Artemis is being significantly reduced. (750,000 CB to 250,000 CB)
  • Artemis and non-Artemis launchers are now unique items and cannot be mixed and matched.
  • Artemis missile ammunition is already its own item type and will not change.
  • Any Artemis equipped Mech in your current inventory will have its launchers automatically converted to the new Artemis Missile Launcher item type.
  • Removing Artemis from a current Artemis enabled BattleMech will require a repurchase of standard missile launchers if you so wish to use them.
  • The cost of the two missile launcher system types (Artemis/Standard) will not change (Artemis version being 100,000 CB more).

"Any Artemis equipped Mech in your current inventory will have its launchers automatically converted to the new Artemis Missile Launcher item type."

It seems we have a Bug??

Well I tested it on the victor yesterday, and there the launchers where automatically upgraded. I only noticed they had been reequipped because the weapon groups where screwed just like with any newly installed weapon.

Then. You're a LUCKY man, the OP and I are missing our launchers. OP contact support, I have. Multiple reports are always nice to drive a legitamate issue home.

I spent the last of my cadet bonus on my launchers/upgrade. Now my Launchers are gone. but the Artemis upgrade is still installed on my mech . I can even pay to remove it! WOOOHOO!!!

Has anyone else run into this? Seems like a direct contradiction of the patch notes would be kinda big.

You need to buy Artemis-enabled launchers now, plain and simple. Once you have them, the cost of switching your mech between Artemis and non-Artemis builds will be lower.

Did you miss the part in the post I linked where Paul specifically says I DON'T need to do that if I already have the launchers equiped.. but would infact need to buy the normal launchers?

The equipped ones conform to whatever the mech has, and remain with Artemis if that was so. All unequipped ones are treated as non-Artemis, because you never had to pay for Artemis on them before. Everything is in order.

Yeah, except I got kicked from the system by the update while messing with my C4s loadout and so now just have 2 Med Lasers and 1.5mil of bill waiting before I can use it again. ;)

You go straight to support with things like that. It would be kind of hard to reproduce, and your first explanation is quite incomplete.

How nice of PGI to sneak this into the patch without alerting the community adequately. Now we have to waste cbills to rebuy launchers with Artemis.

I feel for ya all.

I wondered about this right before applying the patch, which was already too late. Luckily I had a few LRM5s, a LRM10, and 2 LRM20 launchers equipped on an Artemis mech, but I've still got a few ton of useless non-Artemis launchers in inventory now.

PGI should have at least given us a heads-up that this was happening so would could have planned for it. By the time the patch was online it was too late.

I'll probably open a support ticket and ask that my LRMs to be converted to Artemis, or at least credit the C-bill difference so I can sell them and buy the Artemis version. I suggest you do the same.

Yes, it appears to still work.

Still waiting on support for an answer. Buying launchers isn't THAT big of a deal, but along with the OP I'm trying to save for a new mech. Lord knows I'm not gonna pay real money for any of this crap. There's also the fact that the patch notes specifically said the opposite would happen.

God forbid I go by what the patchnotes say.....

Same problem. I had 4 lrm15+arte on my battlemaster . Now I have 4 normal lrm 15s The artemis upgrade and 8 tons of artemis ammo sitting around... this is REALLY dumb. Launchers were taken off my mech. Can I get a Cbill refund at least?

Yeah, I contacted support and all I've got is the 'we have received your message' auto reply so far.

It's annoying is all.
I'm mostly a casual player just a few matches here and there when I have time spare.

And I just bought some MC so I could get a few of the half price paint jobs and buy more mech bays once I got my next Catapult, but overall I don't gain C-Bills all that quickly, and my favourite / best mech is currently out of service.
So if I have to buy it again, losing half of my current C-bills to replace things I had paid for in the first place hurts quite a bit.

If I had the time to grind, I probably wouldn't care - I want to put LRM20's on some later mechs, and could have likely saved them for then and lived with it, but as is...

Heh, finally got a reply on my support ticket.

Took em a little while to respond, but they just credited 1.8million C-Bills to my account.

Irritating it happened, but, that's suitably fixed the problem I think.
