Right now the mechlab will not allow you to equip artemis to streaks after they have been installed with standard guidance. Additionally, the streaks are not auto-removed if you switch guidance systems from artemis to standard. In the case of streaks, artemis must FIRST be applied and THEN the streaks added to the mech afterward. This seems awkward and buggy and doesn't seem to follow the mechanics of applying artemis to other missile systems.

In theory, Artemis is not supposed to apply to streaks. (Supposedly in error, they did still work, not 100% sure if that's still the case). So there should not be any "Steak + Artemis" weapons in the mechlab.
I purchased it in a mech with 4 Streaks mounted and it did nothing to the mech from a loadout perspective.

Correct; Artemis is not suppose to impact the functionality of Streaks. However, I noted about a week and a half ago that I started having a harder time obtaining locks even with my artemis streaks. Not sure if it's just my paranoia or if they're slowly making that change.

I thought they still decreased lock-on time, but that's beside my point anyway. I currently have two in my 2d2 with artemis equipped, but if I take off the artemis, the streaks are not removed and I CANNOT re-equip artemis until I manually remove them. Not sure why it works for you, but not for me. Very curious.

Artemis doesn't affect Streaks.
Unless you somehow have Streak SRM2 + Artemis IV's on your mech / in your inventory, using Streak SRM + Artemis IV ammo, it's not affected by it, and you're brain is probably just seeing things.
If you do have Streak Artemis, then it's a bug.

Streak artemis is a known bug. Artemis is not supposed to affect streaks, but it currently reduces the locktime of the streaks.
