You could remove the Ferro upgrade to free up some space.
Stick a XL 300 in and you can carry 5 to 6 ton of ammo while going above 100kph.
That is one of my YLW build.
Wait until friendlies have engage enemies in brawl, zip around blast someone in the back and move on to the next.
Another is dakka support that replace the AC20 with an AC2 and UAC5 combo.
This build have a greater chance of losing your weapon arm, due to you have to face enemy to maintain DPS. The constant dakka can easily draw aggro.
Best if you are standing behind an Atlas shield and function as a third arm.

Since YLW came out I am running this YEN-LO-WANG config with great success.

The traditional AC20, 4 tons ammo, 2x medium laser yeng lo wang running at over 100kph with speed tweak is of course a good one, but like you said, some mixing up of the matter can be good. I found a surprise when I tried an ER large in the CT rather than the 2 medium lasers in the CT. What inspired it was the AC20 and 2 medium pulse laser builds out there... some were swearing by it's 32 damage, pin point but after trying it I really found it's range to be limiting. 180meters optimal on the MPL and the 270 for the ammo dependant 20 just didn't suit my taste. For some, having 12 damage after losing the arm was worth it, to keep brawling... but for me, that 4 tons for the MPL was damn close to 5 tons for an ER Large. I shoehorned it into the CT and found to my surprise it worked damn well.
Sweeping legs with LL became second nature with lights before I swivelled my AC20 onto them for a shot. Losing the AC20 allowed me still to pull back and snipe out to 675m (or so?), and even "glancing" DOT of the ER large burn can be far more effective than glancing medium laser sweeps. Plus, with the 4 module slots on the Yeng Lo Wang, I had the slot to spare for the advanced zoom, plus what have you... seizmic, an arty strike, air strike even... maybe 360 retention if I'm feeling my situational awareness isn't up to snuff.
Really, it's worthwhile giving it a try. Yes, it's a bit slower than the fast AC20, but still it's near 100kph and has great versatility.
