I think Paul is getting better at the fine tuning. In fact the taste here is maturing like a fine wine. Certainly the more recent balance changes have been more subtle than any significant shifts.

Doesn't mean that I think we have balance and I still see it as a work in progress, but I think sometimes it only needs small shifts to encourage change not a paradigm shift.

When I see much better confidence in encouraging more roles and specifically the shorter game seeing as MWO is more about ranged weaponry atm, I will feel more comfortable with game balance.

1 MG is pointless, 2 is... eeeh still kinda pointless but why not? 3.. okay now my internals are starting to go fast. 4... what internals?

I like how powerful they are currently because it gives light 'mechs a useful and light weapon. slap some ghost heat maybe? seems harsh though considering their range and effectiveness when using 3 or less.

Not only that but there's no infantry here, MG and flamers have been even more utterly useless in previous titles so I like that PGI finally looked at the metrics and said we need to give these weapons purpose.

You mean like the spider 5K with 3 extra MLs?

People cried back then and MGs got nerfed...nothing else.
