Hmm, that's what I was expecting too. My Ember has enough XP on it to unlock the entire remaining pilot tree. Want to buy variants please!

Indeed they are!

Very hard to resist, but as I have spent too much on heroes in the sale I think I will have to wait for next week and get them for C-Bills.

However by that time I will have bucket loads of XP on the Ember...

They've been doing it this way for a long time now.

They started this with either the Highlander or Victor, I forget which.

Doesn't bother me, they will be available next week for cbills, which is when they would have dropped regardless. This is just smart marketing. I will probably buy 1 to kit out and basic up while waiting, then get my last of the 3 next week.

It ain't "milking", it's smart business model.

More than that - it's the classic definition of a free-to-play model. You pay for convenience and aesthetic.

What bothers me more is that the A and K are basically identical. Same engine, same torso and turn rates, same hardpoints except that 1 energy on each side moves to the respective torso instead of the arms.

Why are both of these available? Would you ever choose an A (4 arm energy + 4 torso energy) over a K (6 arm energy + 2 torso energy)?

Seems like the proper way to master the Firestarter is Ember, H, K. The A and S are basically pointless.

With dual ams and an emphasis on streaks in light hunters, I wouldn't call the S pointless.

No no no! why do people always see the hard points and say this? If you've piloted a Firestarter in game at this point, you should know that your arms are HUGE, and virtually every game you lose one or both (if you're not just legged outright). why would you want 75% of your firepower in your shield arms? to me its a no brainer.but the torso and arms aren't THAT much different in speed that you will risk losing ask your pew pew for a little more accuracy.

Just my .02 $

QFT. It's one week, kids. Want to complain about clan packs, that's one thing. But this model is utterly reasonable.

Uh, you may want to edit your post there. You're quoting a guy who is agreeing with you in the same post where you accuse him of trolling. Something tells me you wanted to quote the OP, and not Bishop Steiner.

It's been this way ages, look we all want new toys now rather than later but wait another week and we'll have the c-bill variants.

It's a business to survive they have to make money somehow, after reading about the dungeon keeper game on mobile I realise how good we have it they could gouge us in alot more ways than they do.
