So, last night on the NGNG stream Daeron confirmed that the art department is working on the Mauler. No date on it being released. My best guess is late this year, maybe early next. But then again, this technically isn't even confirmation that it will ever be playable in game.

Thoughts, opinions?

Do you mean NGNG guys are working on it or PGI (Alex/Dennis) are working on it?

The problem is there are only 2 available variants in the timeline. Assuming PGI is going to make it 3051. If it's still 3050 then that's only 1 available variant.

So it's extremely unlikely without some sort of time skip that we'll see the Mauler.

Now the Cyclops has 6 timeline available variants and would fill the same tonnage slot as the Mauler at 90 tons.

But you're forgetting we still have one empty tonnage slot and that's the 95 tonnage bracket with the best contender being the Banshee!

And Sean Lang and crew (with ShortPainter) have been doing their own MW game, with plenty of designs, so....could it be SP has designed one for MW Universe?

They said FlyingDebris (Alex Inglesias) was working on it, not sure if they specifically said for PGI or not. This was put out by Daeron in the text chat while xImpalerx was streaming. I think he also said it was going to be in last night's NGNG podcast, so if someone that listens to the podcast can confirm? (I don't listen to podcasts, if I want to sit and listen to people talk I turn on NPR, dammit.)

I want the Tesla II stock Mauler. Twin Gauss rifles backed up by 6 x LRM-5.

The Zeus and Cyclops each have a nice varied load out at 80 and 90 tons, meaning E, M, and B and are both 64.8 KPH stock. The Banshee is as fast at 95 tons but is mostly E with a B and fills the 95 ton gap which is the only one not present.

That would make it the March mech then, along side which-ever one isn't released this month (Wolverine maybe)

Since Russ said there would be an assault in March.

Mauler is a bit of a surprise though. If true, this one will break the trend of three timeline appropriate variants...

At 95-tons, I would prefer the Nightstar. Essentially a Marauder IIC, but the Dragoons have a Hero mech possibility and it has three variants (though I'm not sure about the date of the NSR-9SS... It may be later in the timeline...). Still an awesome mech and fills the 95-tons.

Unless they shift the timeline the Nightstar will never be a part of this game.

I'd rather see the Zeus then the Mauler. >.>

Edit - Just Realized They could release the 6y Zeus as a hero named Shoop Da Whoop. The Blazer should be available as a weapon in the game. Since Clans aren't too far off, let us IS guys have a new weapon. :3

I've seen a few guys mention this, but when did they ever confirm two mechs a month coming out? I mean, I know that makes sense since they obviously have them made, but so would a lot of things. I never saw any announcements about firestarter AND wolverine or griffon coming out, anybody got the source.

The plants were destroyed a long time ago, and new production didn't resume until 3057, but almost the exact same situation happened with the Highlander, which is currently in the game: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Highlander

Production was basically lost during the second war, instead of the first, with both mechs going back into production in 3057 - the main difference being that it states that ComStar had a large supply of HGNs that they gave to the Combine, but the same excuse could be used for the Nightstar and just not documented because it looks quite similar to the Marauder (just larger).
