Could it be the long-anticipated Banshee?
With hardpoint inflation, you could actually make some decent variants for it. I'd come up with:
BNC-3E
LT 3B
RT 2E
HD 1E
Max Engine: 400
Torso Traverse: 100º
Torso Elevation: 35º
Arm Traverse: N/A
Arm Elevation: N/A
BNC-3M
LT 3E
RT 3E
HD 1E
Max Engine: 400
Torso Traverse: 90º
Torso Elevation: 35º
Arm Traverse: N/A
Arm Elevation: N/A
BNC-3S
LA 1E
LT 1B
CT 1E
RT 5E 1M
HD 1E
Max Engine: 345
Torso Traverse: 60º
Torso Elevation: 30º
Arm Traverse: 40º
Arm Elevation: 20º
The -3E gets better twist/elevation ranges in exchange for being short a hardpoint, the -3S loses twist range for having a buttload of hardpoints.

This makes the most sense. The Blackjack has limits, and not everyone enjoys playing a bug/bird-like 'Mech.
Clint, Hermes II, Vulcan, Assassin — 40 tons will go a long way getting under weight.

MOAR MEDIUMS!

Lights - 6
Mediums - 9
Heavies - 7
Assaults - 6
Is another medium needed at this point? How about an assault and then a light for the next 2 IS mechs?

While I welcome the time when collisions are implemented back into the game, it won't be any time soon, hopefully after CW is fully implemented, and I am also scared of that time as well. From the number of scrapes and bruises I get currently from people running into me, I am worried I won't even make it into combat alive once collisions are back...

Anyway, the reasons why I'll push for the Cyclops:
- It's a freaking cyclops, duh!
- It would be a second C&C mech which would be nice IF we ever get the console fixed/working
- There are 4 variants available (10Q, 10Z, 11A, and 11C)
- The 11B, while not in the timeline (3071 which makes no sense to me) carries two Gauss Rifles which would give the community an Assault mech with double ballistics

The Zeus has a lot of potential variants to field and is much Steiner love.
The Charger is what people think of when they go "bad idea". Then they find out there's a 400 XL version that'd have at least four energy and two missile hardpoints, plus it's the most mobile assault to date. When JJ's are fixed that more than one are actually worth getting, you have a 'Mech that will outfly a Victor.
Did I mention it has slower variants that can do ballistics and such too?
Cyclops would be nice whenever we stop tossing Command Consoles.
Banshees fill in the 95 ton gap and the Banshee-S is what the Atlas wished to be. Good hardpoint mix and brutal firepower.

As for Assault's, I can dig the Banshee. I used to think it was a "craptastick" mech, but if you've ever used it in level one play then you know that it is an awesome close range brawler.

"The Vindicator carries as its primary weapon a Ceres Arms Smasher PPC in its right arm, giving the 'Mech a weapon capable of striking at long ranges and doing a respectable amount of damage. The weapon also features an innovative cooling jacket which possesses water intake ports around the muzzle, allowing the pilot to dip the PPC into a body of water and quickly cool it, with steam exiting via a nozzle at the opposite end. However this process leaves the Vindicator vulnerable as it must kneel motionless for ten seconds. "

I Love the Vindicator, one of my Favourite Mechs is TT.
The PPC Cooling system would be a great Basic for Query
As
25% less Heat from Energy Weapons fired from Left Arm
