Not The Average Cicada 2A

I got really bored of my usual med boating with my Cicada and decided to see if med pulse could work. Well here it is, the firepower looks like garbage however it is devastating to lights when you can aim well enough to hit em or they are just dumb enough to stay still.
If needed you can ambush a heavy/assault when they are off guard then back away from view.
Still pretty heat efficient if you don't just try to alpha every time. HOWEVER I have yet to test this on a hot map like Terra Therma.
Arm armor is maxed but I don't think I entirely need that however lowering it doesn't seem to help with freeing up tonnage much so I just left it.

you have better heat efficiency this way, oddly. and there is no ghost heat on this either, also a bit more range for 2 of the 4 hardpoints

Not exactly sure of how to even play that as it goes completely out of my play style however there is the chance I could make it work. Before my current build I had 2 pulse and 2 normal mediums which did not turn out well as all as I screwed up the cooldown timing of the laser types completely. Which leads to me trying to avoid using different weapons on the same build for a 2A.

this is how i run mine for 10 kph i think dem heatsinks are worth on a heat heavy build
pretty similar to my 4 medium pulse raven 2x(4x?) which is suprisingly good vs lights
(leg the other streak raven 3L while his streaks splash and you shoot dem legs with your pulse lasers)

even with 1 cockpit armor it seems only dual gauss/dual ac 20's or airstrikes seem to cockpit me and thats extremely rare
or the no arm armor version with 16 doubles

Hmm I like it! In closed beta I used a 2A with 6 smalls 3 groups of 2 on chain fire, so i could constantly do 6 damage, I managed 1000 damage twice, but that was then and I dont know if it would do to well these days.
I came up with this build though and i think it could work.

i really didnt like the 4 medium pulse laser build in my 3M, just too hot for not enough damage and the range, oh the range.
you said you already ran the medium laser version so its not like you havent tried it or anything... but you could just take the exact same build but swap the pulses for 6 mediums and 2 extra heatsinks and have better alpha damage(30 vs 24), better heat dissipation (43% on smurfy vs 41%) and better dps (3.23 vs 2.73).
the worst part is you completely loose the ability to take shots at 400 meters, you got to get in there and slug it out.
i just see it as being worse as everything just for a shorter beam duration.
i also tried small pulse lasers (6) and just found that the cicada is too large andtoo easy to hit to stay that close all the time.

I used to run 6 small pulse lasers instead of mediums sometimes and I found it pretty useable when the enemy doesn't see you coming. However the reason I swapped out mediums for medium pulse besides getting bored was because it did better on light hunting while not using streaks. However small pulse build was super heat efficient even on terra while I run at average heat with pulse. I don't see much difference with the heat compared to 6 mediums. Even when I get hot the amount of sinks I already run seems to dissipate it very fast. Range is only an issue for certain maps such as alpine peaks.
As for 6 mediums for 2 extra sinks, That is exactly what my old build was.
