I attempted to return to MWO after a couple months hiatus.
What I have found is UI 2.0 which is IMHO "the most unintuitive, overly complicated, and least useful interface I have ever seen".

First: I am used to having a quick launch selection of 4 mechs, each of which were equipped with weapons, engines, and modules, ready to play. Where the FSK are they?

Second: When equipping a mech I noticed that the weapon descriptions lacked a "range" listing, but included a graph with the medium marker at 750m. WTF, the only weapon in this game with a 750m range is the ER PPC. mean that a line in that diagram offers absolutely no relationship to the range of a weapon, everything is left of that medium line.

Inventory, "owned mechs". When I select that option, why does it display mechs I do not own, with an option to purchase. seriously the filter is literally named "Owneed mechs" how do you FSK that up? [redacted]

I have to tell you this rant came after attempting to use UI 2.0 for several hours, I even purchased an Ember mech, which I immediately rerated (due to the painfully slow and complicated navigation in UI2.0). Seriously PGI as a loyal follower and supporter, you are you making the worse not better; to the point that the only redeeming quality of the latest patch is that the game play is still fun (except for the maps that continuously spam "base is under attack" when infact it is not.

Welcome to the club. Try the veal, and don't forget to tip your waitress.

Took me a few minutes to figure it out.

No biggie.

No doubt there's room for improvement tho, something that i hope PGI realizes and acts accordingly.

While I can't disagree on most of these points I do think UI2.0 will be an improvement with a few tweaks.
  • We need a flag we can set on a mech to say it is "Ready" for play.
  • We need to see Engine size and Modules without going into Configure.
  • We need to see our MC and C-Bills in every screen.
Then it would be nice if the "Home" screen offered full mech information including the statistics for that mech.

Repeatedly

I'd suggest posting your ideas in the feedback section or one of the other UI threads. They've documented the issues with the new UI (Before they released it actually) and have discussed the fact that they'll be fixing it as they go and every patch will include new fixes for it

I've said it to a few friends and I'll say it here: PGI gets a pass on UI2.0 because they released it admitting that it was going to be crappy. If I cook dinner and it is the first time that I've made it all while telling you that I'm extremely concerned that I probably borked it up, you can't throw a tantrum when it turns out to be bad. Are there a lot of problems with 2.0? Hell yes there are. Why is it that I'm still "configuring" my mech after I "check out" (which is weird that it is a check out as I'm not shopping at Walmart but I digress)? Why are there so many button clicks to go to places? Why am I crashing and why is it pretty much 100% the fault of the number of people on your friends list? The point is, though, that I can accept the crappiness of the current UI when I know that they told us ahead of time that it was going to be buggy, as is everything that gets released in games (not just this one, gents), and that they're actively working each and every patch and every day in between to fix all of the issues. The ocean isn't always calm, friends. Dealing with the chop is part of the environment, especially when you read the forecast and know that it is going to be there.
