COMING SOMETIME IN AUGUST-ISH!



Camo/Paint and colours are something I use to take mechs out of commision (red ones), and I differentiate each mech by a different colour and camo...

I'm heavily a visual person. I learn visually, organize visually, and, as you can tell by the picture below, I like to use visuals to prove my point. Below is an image that includes a portion of my mechs and their current colours. I spent a couple hours resizing and cropping the screenshots to make this image. I left one icon to show the original.

This just would help so much if the icons display a current portrait of the mech. I don't even care if it ends up as a tick box I need to select that warns be about a reduction in performance. It'll always be checked on my computer.

I specifically asked this questions in one of ATD's a while back and was told it was coming with UI 2.0. Too bad it wasn't in for it's launch. Who knows if they will get around to it...

i dont care if its portraits or full mechs
i want to see them all displayed with my paint and my designs ect
my yen-lo-wang is not red or white but the picture always is
drives me crazy and does not look cool at all
if it needs to be a static picture , then have the mechlab save one out automaticlly
if its easier to do in 3d , go with that with an option for carboard cutouts for lame pc's

Honestly I'd prefer a text-based scroll with more information (like engine size, weapons, armor, modules, etc)

lol no, i have a few colours. like two purple, two blue, two green, two yellows, a few reds, some browns,.

Yes, oh yes!

Performance wise, this is just a single Render to Texture (RTT) Operation with a fixed camera and black background. So every time you save a mech, they would need to update the image (and store in your games user folder). From then on, they just need to use them, so no performance impact at all.

I vote yes with a caveat, I don't want massive portraits like you are showing, but I would like my icons to represent the equipment and colors I have on my mech.

Agreed, it just looks so much better in the mechlab. As-is there's no point in even having an image of the mech.

Soooooooo... *bump*

Mech images that reflect the actual look of your mech, would just be fantastic. This is just cosmetic stuff i know, but for some reasons this issue is important to me.

It'd be a great help to have the camo and colors update as well as the weapon modules. I hate looking at my mechs and misidentifying them because they show a weapon that isn't really there.
