Stalker Misery Sniper With Xl Engine

Hey guys after 3 weeks with my STK-M found and interesting build

This guy is packed with 2 PPC 1 Gauss 1 LRM 20 and 2 small lasers for trolling purposes

and a 310 XL Engine

Yes, I know about torso death, but how I am playing this its mostly like an sniper, if I enter to a close fight, I am a goner

However MACRO keyboard its a must for this build, for some reason the gauss rifle needs to warm up for about half a second with the key hold pressed until its ready and then release so I built a Macro that will activate the sequence and shoot with the 2 PPC after and another macro for locking and shooting 20 LRM

I am still able to sustain some hits but should be only for find another position

the goal is to inflict most dmg possible from a distance my highest dmg was 990

Any others ideas?

2 small lasers are essentially worthless. Anything gets that close is going to shred you anyhow. Add a TAG instead.

I'd also switch to an XL300, loss of a whopping 2.1kph for two tons to be used on Artemis, armor and/or ammo.

That's actually a great idea, instead of having to worthless small lasers put a tag!

Actually I have the LRM with artemis, sometimes I run in an issue that the last spread of missiles lose their lock since it needs 4 launches for the LRM since the STK-M can only shoot up to 6 per cycle, I don't know if lower to a LRM 5 or LRM 10 with artemis and more ammo.

Any thoughts?

Exactly, now I wonder about the use of the AMS? only takes 2 tons and 2 slot for having it with the AMS and the AMMO, would you skip it or allocate it?

Now I am having real trouble on some maps mostly when its really dark and snow.

Well, depends on how much missile fire you are taking I guess. And how hot you are running. I'm thinking it should be relatively easy to drop 2 DHS for AMS, or 1 DHS and a ton of ammo. Really would just go by personal comfort. Could even go down to a LRM 10 and keep the rest. I had considered adding a pair of medium lasers, but even though they would be more effective than the small, just decided that they really were not a good fit.
