swapped LLas for medium lasers, streaks and more heatsinks.,
VTR-9B
ac20 brawler with missles
VTR-9B
without missles, add ER larges + ams JJs and ammo
VTR-9B
then theres the ppc/ac5 builds as well.
try lots of builds, find one that clicks and have fun

Ferro is very, very good when stacked on top of Endo. It's not ALWAYS what you want, but telling him to get rid of it is also a mistake.
I really dislike those kinds of XL builds on a Victor, in particular when there's ammo in the legs like you have there.

As long as you die before quitting, you'll still get your rewards when that game concludes.

Like many other things, they are perfectly fine outside of competitive play. Firepower and mobility can overcome the relative squishiness.

Oh I know, but I think if you're going XL, you should definitely be going long, long range. XL brawlers are really too squishy at any level I think in general, when it comes to big 'mechs anyway.

I switched to dual AC5, they have a still decent range and generate almost no heat. You can fire them and the lasers simultaneously without risking instant-heat-death.

Ooofh man. Ammo loaded legs with half armor are the worst idea ever.
Why do people keep suggesting that in this forum? I mean holy crap, that's just a terrible config.

...not surprised someone who can't master LRM builds other than skirmishers can't understand and won't master these kinds of builds...
To Vash with two h's, because you are a noob, don't try these builds, you will die a horrible death and have no fun, people will shoot your legs right off and blow you to pieces, lights will take your right arm off, leaving you with the mighty power of a spider-v with two medium lasers in your left arm....then they will take your left, then leave you behind stumbling on one leg and no weapons so their friend in the cataphract can eventually find you and finish you off. Or you could figure it out and have some fun with it.
Did you ever post stats in that other thread Victor?

I really have no idea what I'm talking about, Vash with two h's

There was a time when you used to have it that way for all of your builds. And like many, "armor in your torso is stupid." Then you got somewhere that has smart players and learned the hard way. In some ranges it works. In others, it won't work. For most new players it really tends to work.
But remember, the kinds of players they are playing with you can stand next to them while being on the other team and shoot his friends. And then walk in front, wave to them, and AC/20 + 2 MPL to the cockpit.

Half armor is too adventurous. When you have the same side torso and leg armor, it makes sense to go straight for your weapons. When your assault's legs are squishier than on a medium mech, that is a liability at any skill level.

True - but I'm not going to yell at them for dropping it lower - esp when so few people I play with bother even trying to leg at all.

I often put AMS ammo in my legs... because it's usually mostly used up long before i engage close enough to run the risk of getting legged.
Also, after 550 PUGs... I have been legged exactly once. In non-competitive play/PUGs the risk of being legged simply isn't there.
