I was testing the improved AMS module on my Locust, but the Firestarter actually gives me enough mass to have decent ammo reserves.
Is this a dumb idea or a safe way to grind? I was thinking 4x mlas and max efficient armor.

AMS doesn't actually award you any points/monies for shielding your teammates. It's still something I do in my FS9-S when I don't have anything else on my plate since it does help match win, but you don't really need more than two tons max of AMS ammo, nor should you be more concerned with warding your team than with getting your beams in range of the enemy. After all, if you're hunting the enemy LRM boat where he lives, then you're still intercepting his shots DOUBLE SUCCESS style, eh?

It's role... LRM boat killer. Probably would piss off Oxide pilots as well.

If you're wondering between Locust and FS simply for the purpose of having a dual-AMS Light, Firestarter it is. There isn't a single half-decent build for Locust 3S that involves two AMS, and its armor is so low, not even two AMS will give it a flying chance against a pair of SSRMs.
