I dumped the suicidal XL, retained more than enough ammo to do the job, got rid of unnecessary or redundant gear, and generally increased the survivability while reducing the cost of the build. The speed difference between a 315 and a 300 is trivial.

Dakka always, use lasers when heat allows.

That 270 ammo might look excessive but it really isn't, it's pretty normal that I use 200+ ammo in a game if I survive game. + it allows player to shoot enemies at extreme range with lowered damage, which still hurts... but if that build would be tight on ammo I wouldn't want to shoot enemies at the range of 1200 meters or even further away.
But if you feel that is too much ammo just remove 2 tons and add two DHS.


the challenge was for maximum sustain/dps, I see no problem with the build. Engine can be downgraded for more ammo if desired.

Here's my entry for a playable 'max sustainable dps' build. It's a 12dps JM6-DD using two LB10Xes (5 tons of ammo), 4 MGs (1 ton of ammo), and a standard 265 engine (I figure a sustained DPS build would be for brawling so I didn't want an XL engine in there). I did have to use both Ferro and Endo for weight savings though

I also created a 13.24dps build with a small pulse laser but it didn't have enough ammo and used an XL engine so I wouldn't suggest it for actual gameplay.

Well still those mediums or any energy weapon will add to that max sustained

No... they will cause you to eventually overheat. Max sustain means 'I can fire forever/until I run out of ammo'

Suicidal only if you just let them pound your shoulders.

Removed gear that help with survivability and helped spot enemies sooner.

The speed difference is trivial until you need it.

Cost is irrelevant.

I have repeatedly seen a lance of these as designed go right through the enemy with all four members surviving and chew up lights that tried to play their little run around in circles game. Notice I said "repeatedly".

Build how you want, I will fix my own if I see the need.

Max Sustained DPS (I'm assuming that's the stat you're going for) is 7.06. You can increase that to 7.29 by running a few tons underweight and adding another DHS.

That AC/20 ammo won't last much - when its over, you will be very under-gunned.
