Just curious of what you guys think about my sad computer specs. I do not have a great computer for gaming, but it has run a lot of games in the past. Just wanted to know if you guys think my computer will run this game.
Thanks =)

i missed that you had a laptop, but im keeping the body of my response so you know what needs to he higher if/when you upgrade.
you realy need to upgrade the processor, one core will die.
the video card is... acceptable, but that can use an upgrade as well.
the best way to know if your computer will run MWO seems to be crysis 2 from what others are saying.

sorry it took to long to find this post, but the pony repellent kept me away until it dissipated off.

"Can you run it?"

http://www.systemreq...cyri/intro.aspx

Select or type Crysis 2 from the dropdown menu.

Since MWO is based on CryEngine 3, Crysis 2 is the closest thing to compare to.

Green checks are good, and it'll let you know what needs upgrading/and is failing to meet requirements.

System requirements lab is occasionally useful but I've never seen it do anything but confuse laptop owners. I'd recommend trying Crysis 2 on it directly, but I can't remember if that game has a demo or not.

In any case that video card really isn't something you want to be playing graphically intensive modern games with. I have its predecessor in my old laptop and it's worse in every way than the video card my desktop from 2004 had.

No. You'll be lucky to get 5fps, maybe mor ein 1024 by 768, up to 15 id guess.

Check by using this SDK for the crytek 3 engine

@luminnatus

It most likely won't run at your native 1600x900, atleast not with decent fps.

I say most likely because nobody knows how the game scales in comparison to Crysis 2 which is run on the same game engine.

It could be better - smaller maps, less stuff on the maps, in any canse I don't think MWO will demand more of our hardware than the original Crysis 2.

If you had a desktop then we could help you. As its a laptop, sorry itz just not going to cut it.
So best to save up your biscuits and get a desktop.

Fortunately you can make a cheap and powerful pc now. So save up $500 and build a custom desktop.

Gaming on a laptop is rather laughable. For the price vs performance you can get a WAY better computer for the price of most "gaming" laptops.

Don't mean to hijack the thread but this is where I read about that site to test requirements. I'm using a very old Desktop though. Here's an image of the results after testing it for Crysis 2:

I know it's for a different game but these minimum requirements are lower than what was posted for MWO. Replacing a video card would be cheap and easy though my processor and stuff is way below what they need for MWO. I'll probably still try for the new PC but it would be nice if this old rig could run it at minimum settings after a card swap. B)

Edit:

I'd have bought a new PC a year or two ago but house bills kept going my way when other people couldn't pay their share. :)

just getting in on this topic so I can run the test later...

I have a very old Alienware box, that has seen a few replacement parts along the way... it runs BF3 decently enough so I'm hoping that it will handle MW:O

Check if your motherboard supports the newer E8400 CPU. If so, grab one off eBay - they are reasonably cheap and would run MWO at most resolutions and detail levels just fine.

Also upgrade your RAM, grab another 4GB.

As for your graphics card I don't know if it would be enough. Best to upgrade that as well but that will be the most expensive upgrade.

Check the hardware forum section for lots of topics regarding this issue.

Thanks for the advice. I didn't even think of looking there, but then again it's 4 am right now. :)

I don't mean to sound like a troll but your video card is crap. You're also on a Laptop, which means you probably can't just switch it out. Looks like you have to buy a new PC pal. That Laptop won't run this game well at all.

you dont buy gaming laptops for power you buy them for portability. I highly doubt anyone would argue that a laptop is better than a desktop, but to say its laughable.... come on man.

I would say....barely, if at all.

Your CPU is bare minimum, but should be...okay.

Your GPU, on the other hand, just isn't going to cut it. The minimum required 8800GT offers, roughly, 6 times the performance of the 4530. With no AA, low resolution, no bells or whistles of any kind, it might be able to squeak out a few frames per second.

^ This. Some people actually travel a lot and packing up a Laptop is much easier and lighter than an entire desktop case. The portability of gaming Laptops now allow anyone can enjoy video games. Easy portability is important to some people.
