One sad thing about the UI is that all of the icons on the mechlab don't reflect changes you've made to the appearance of the mech, be it paint-jobs or weapons loadout. It's sometimes hard to pick a mech out from the vast sea of green newbie paint.
It would be nice to have icons dynamically updated when you make changes on the mechlab. You've already got the assets loaded into the game. It shouldn't be terribly difficult to have the game take a picture of your mech and make a new icon of it if it detects that some visually-identifiable change has occured.
