Was last on sale 4/18, before that in February.

Hero sale history is in the OP.

Being a KTO fan, I considered it, but I can't figure out anything I want to do wth it that I can't do wth the 18 or 19. :D

Darn, I missed that sale.

I'm sorry. I'll add you to my "special watch" list and PM you if it comes up again.

I appreciate the offer but it is all good, I will keep an eye peeled. My own fault for not having watched this thread in a while.

I used to be able to keep track of paint scheme + paint color sales fairly easily, now I am all confused about how the purchase of scheme + color even works. They used to distinguish between one-use and unlimited-use scheme, for each chassis. Does this still apply?

Tellingly, I haven't spent any MC on scheme + paint since UI 2.0 came out. Can somebody link a page that explains the new system, please?

Thanks.

PS. Terciel, I got impatient and bought a second VTR DS anyway. It's nice to be able to just quit a match when there's a Spider running around on Skirmish, jump into the second one with different build.

LOL. Enjoy the Dual Slayers (you are going to name them Buffy and Faith, right?) :)

Paint still works the same as it used to, but the interface is more cumbersome. AFAIK, single use never goes on sale. Just chassis unlocks.

LOL, I am usually lazy in naming my mechs, the most effort I put in so far are: "D-DC 1", "D-DC 2", "CTF-3D 1", "CTF-3D 2" but your idea is excellent and I'll use "Buffy" and "Faith". Which one should have PPC+Gauss and which one should have PPC+(u)AC5 ?

Faith has less subtlety and finesse. She gets the UACs. ;)

Good suggestions, thanks.

OK since you guys are full of great ideas, now on to my other twin mechs: CTF-3Ds. One with 2xPPC 2xAC5 (runs hot) and one with 2xPPC Gauss. What should I name them?

I think prior to the Twin Slayers, the last time I named a mech was AWS-8R with 4xaLRM15, "Agincourt", in honor of English longbowmen who beat mounted French knights in Agincourt. But that was before ghost heat, before UI 2.0.

Go with knights. Cataphracts are essentially armored cav (horse and rider).

Galahad for the ACs and Lancelot for the GRs? like it!

My Phracts are Peter Rabbit, Thumper and Cottontial. If I ever pick up the others, they'll be Flopsy and Mopsy.

My Dragon Slayer is GraceSlick (all my VTRs are kick butt rock women)

My 'phracts are "sold", "sold faster" and "keeping because meta".

Great ideas. So they shall be named: Galahad and Lancelot.

Thanks a lot guys, this is fun!

If you want some ideas or are looking for inspiration there is a thread for the nicknaming of mechs (usually the sharing of, but occasionally asking)

When the Griffins came out everyone went with the stupid-easy names. ;)

(will dig up and link the thread if wanted)

Yeah, that will be great. I looked around but I wasn't able to find the thread you mentioned.

Thanks!

All I ask is that if you name some Griffins, please use something other than the TV show. ;)

If I were you I'd focus on the mythology of "Griffins", which appear in stories from central asia all the way to east asia. So I'd go with "Ziz" the Jewish name, "Anzu" the Summerian name, and "Pixiu" the Chinese name. Is that dorky enough for you?

Probably a bit more clever than what I went with. ;)

My names were shared in that topic already, so forgive me if I do not reiterate them here (that and I cannot remember the spelling right now >.< )
