Same here. Too bad that won't go on sale until we have new hero mechs to wait for. I don't even own 2 other variants of half of my hero mechs currently, with the way they've been throwing sales at us and my not playing much for the last half year. Despite that I currently own 120 mechs.

I won't get my first paycheck for a while and the Treb hero is just a bit out of the MC range I have. I'll have to wait.

I kinda own the colors on sale. So I'll twiddle my fingers for now.

Of the Kintaros, the Golden Boy's CT seems to take more abuse even with less armor allocated. Likely due to the twin missile doors on the same section. A door adds 10% armor protection while closed.

It'd be great for a standard engine, but I run an XL 280 on it to pack on SRMs, Streaks, and an LRM-20 with some medium lasers and a tag for a good all 'round mech.

That's a texture.
A few other mechs have it in places, but not to the extreme degree of the Arrow.

So you can only get a shiny BJ, not a shiny paint.


Also - is it bad I think the Basic (c-bill) Red is nicer than the Premium Crimson?

Sorting through colors is such a pain, I hope they'll improve the UI for that soon. It was easier in UI 1.0.

It's a specular texture; it's the same reason the Clan primes are ungodly shiny, and the Golden Boy is 'golden'.

Trouble is if you got the shinies you can't get rid of them. Also the shinies will NOT change color. Even if you painted the entire Arrow white, it'd still shine purple. Paint it green? Shines purple. Paint it black? Shines purple. Paint it red and yellow? Shines purple. Remove all paint...shines purple.

Now, the Cobra paintjob on every mech does something similar, actually as it comes with its own unique specular texture. But the colors it shines do not change, so no matter what colors you put on it will shine 'other' colors.

A Specular texture determines lighting reflections and refractions.
