Ugh, considering hopping onto the Atlas train too, despite wanting to save for Clan 'mechs.

no endo-steel
For an Atlas-D load out? Should I even bother if I don't necessarily intend to buy the other Atlases?

I wouldn't. They're really hugely different once you get them through double basic. Buying one without leveling the others seems like an exercise in frustration to me.

(As does a STD300 Atlas, FWIW)

Thanks for the insight. Not sure if I'd want to drop the C-bills on a bigger engine, though ~6.3 million C-bills for an Atlas is tempting.

DDC is tempting too, though.

Yeah, Atlai are a huge investment. I think I spent in the neigborhood of 40-45MM. Even getting them 1/2 of CB only shaves 12 off of that (and that's if it's all three).

STD325-350 is the normal range for their engines, FWIW.

I was originally thinking of this or variations of it, but it seems like it would be too hot in a brawl. Even relying on the AC20's and Lrg Pulses for the close in work.

Dragon Slayer is (last I checked) the meta chassis.

However as that seems to be it's biggest strength - it would depend on how much you like the meta
(IE jump jetting with PPC and AC/Gauss)

I actually sport every founder mech as a standard variant, too. Will do the same for the Phoenix mechs.

I'll have to run my Heavy Metal with you. You won't regret it then. Once I settled on the build I had during the time before ghost heat, I kept it even til now with no changes. It's still the best damn mech I ever had. If I remember you're rocking SRMs and not much speed on yours aren't you? (Mine goes faster than any Highlander, carries enough ammo for endurance, and was made as an anti-meta rig). When are you on? It's been a while since I saw you on Zhizhu's teamspeak.

Try 2 lbx, 4 med lasers, 2 srm 6's. When fighting an Evil little Jenner or Spider, etc., chain fire. My best med ranged brawler. Best for multiple enemy, tearing through enemy line, while your finisher buddy with the ac 20 does his job, lrm buddy sky loves them, and evil little fellas get ignored and get kills.
