This was maybe a month or two so back when the Highlander was the assault trial. Alpine Peaks, I died sometime in the middle of the match. When there were about 5 mechs left, 3 on ours 2 on theirs, I started spectating a Highlander who was obviously a noob. He was perched on top of a ridge and had clear easy shots at the enemy mechs below. There was a Battlemaster there who was basically stationary about 500m away, and the Highlander pilot only thought of shooting ER LLs into the BLR's right arm, completely neglecting to use his AC10 or getting into a position to shoot the rear armor.

Fortunately for the Highlander, the two enemy mechs were focused on a long range shootout with the other 2 friendlies. Eventually, they died, and so did one enemy mech. So it was a 1v1 with the Highlander pilot and the remaining Battlemaster. The Highlander dropped down from the ridge out into the open valley. I thought it was lost right there. BLR saw him and got into a position where he has the higher ground and only half of his torso was exposed to the completely open HGN. The HGN I guess now remembered to start using his AC10 but shot several rounds into the rock that was covering the BLR. He failed to target the BLR as well so I've no idea what the enemy's status was. But just about when the HGN was going to be cored, the ER LLs connected and managed to kill the BLR. I guess everyone spectating on our team breathed a sigh of relief...
