Honestly right now, in my opinion the only way to play LRM's is as one of the 55 ton mechs.

The small launchers can be really good if you are able to keep LOS.

Basically here is the best way to play LRM's...and it's really dependant on which map/where the fights are occurring.

Load a Griffin or something with 4 LRM 5's/10's of any mix and match. Load a TAG. Load a PPC/Large Laser. And a BAP.

Throw a ton of ammo in, Artemis is nice but not required due to 5's and 10's having a very tight spread already.

Engage anywhere from 300-500m, use LOS, and keep moving. Then just chain fire the LRM's. It has the same disorienting effect as Streaks, but has the added bonus of going CT unless your target is moving fast laterally.

Throw in a few PPC/Large Laser shots to help bust em open.

Perfect scenario, it's really devastating.

But it's not easy to do and you have to pray they don't recognize what you are doing.

I'd agree that at present - LRMishing is the best way to focus on LRMs. However - the treb 7m is still pretty solid at it too. If only it had a bit better torso twist, it'd be 2nd to the griffon. Plus those 5 tons might mean something starting in April.

I still think that LRM 30 or so as a secondary weapon system on an assault can be a valid use - but I wouldn't use anything less than a total of LRM 25 - you lose too much to AMS below that.

I just don't like LRM's on assaults, they become worthless too quickly.

As for the Treb, I hate the model, it's huge. Seems to die easily.

youre better off with streaks since lights inside your ppc range are the biggest threat to you.

lrms are outright worse than direct fire weapons and compete with streak slots...

Artemis seems more useful when you have more launchers since its benefits are lock time and spread reduction and the latter only matters when you have 30 or more launchers.
