I just bought a new laptop without an extra graphic card (battery/heat issue) and to my surprise MWO is pretty playable. On the lowest setting ofc, not pretty but hey :).
I get around 28-35 fps.

My Specs Are:
Intel Core i3 m3110 @ 2.4GHZ
Intel HD 4000 (the integrated one)
8GB Ram @ 1600MHZ (dual channel)
Win 8.1

Its importand that you use 2 ram slots, the dual channel mode will boost your graphics quite a bit. In single channel mode (just 1 ram slot) i only get 22-25fps.

Hope this helps some of you, if you want to buy a new laptop.

I can't imagine how ugly the game must be at the low resolution and detail settings you are using. At that point, I'd rather not play.

If you want to buy a new laptop and expect to play modern games on it, DO NOT EVER settle for the integrated graphics. ALWAYS get a laptop with a discrete graphics solution for gaming. Having a game look and play like it's on an 8-bit Atari console is not cool.

Don't expect to get that level of performance when DirectX 11 arrives, OP. Yours will likely be one of the machines that gets worse performance in that mode.

Thanks for that info OP!

For some people that will be helpful information for sure. I know I prefer to play on my gaming desktop, but I have been known to drop into some matches on my laptop aswell, and its nice to be able to do that from time to time on a low spec machine when its convenient.

Some of the new generation of integrated graphics chips I'm sure would manage better than my work laptop does for MWO - only a geforce 525M which is just bad bad bad for gaming, even though the corei7, 8gb of ram and a 500gb SSD make it an absolute office rocket for 2D CAD and general day to day work stuff.

Actually I find the game is more than playable on the lowest settings (if you are playing it for the fun if it!) and if doing that on your lappy to fill in 15minutes makes you happy, more power to you.

I occasionally enjoy a bit of gaming nostalgia too.... wheres that old atari console got to...

Yep. Different priorities for different folks.

If I was Average Joe worker bee who occasionally played games, a weak work laptop might do the job.

But I'm not, so I spend about $1000 every couple of years to get the newest tech in my desktop machine. If I ever bought a laptop (I don't plan to), I'd probably spend well over $1000 on it to make sure it could play modern games well. Any work done on it would be trivial, as it would have a lot of CPU and GPU power just waiting to be used. I'd probably buy a new one every three years or so.

Faster the RAM the better too when using an iGPU!
DDR4 will do wonders for integrated graphics when it comes out

Well my last laptop toasted itself, thanks to the fancy graphic card. Just after the warranty ran out. So i prefer my gaming desktop usually, but its nice to know you can play if you want to.

The new haswell gpu should be more capable than my ivy bride gpu, btw

Played medium-high settings with respectable FPS (~40) with iGPU i5-4670K, then again, looks better max settings with my GTX 770 2GB no doubt.
