Hi everyone,
The Jester is 50% off from now until tomorrow.
Does this mech is a good hero mech to buy?
I'm a fan of CTF for heavy mech but i never try the catapult and Jagermech (same tonnage).
Any advices from people who have test it? And any builds?
Thanks!!!

I have ten heroes. Catapults are my next chassis. I'm not buying it half off. You can infer my opinion.

The main draw for the Jester, really, is the combination of dual AMSes, high speed, and a nifty paint job. Also owning a 'mech called 'jester'. If you actually want a strong (as defined by current trends) weapons loadout et cetera, and don't care about the above three elements, then don't bother buying the Jester- it's probably not for you. It's not bad, but it's really not a remarkable 'mech in most situations and ways.

I have a Jester - not sure I'd buy it again.
For reference, I decided to not try to make it awesome and instead think of it like a big, brightly colored and less maneuverable Jenner. It helps.

It's a reasonably good one, and if you're considering mastering Catapult then I strongly suggest you go for it, since both A1 and C4 are lacklusters, at least imo.

Does XL engines are good in it?
I like the dual AMS, but i'm not sure the six combination Hard Points are very good.
The K2 isn't better?
It's difficult to choose... I have a lot of hero mech, but some of thel are better than other.

It's a 6 laser K2 with no ballistics, max 355 engine size, dual ams with dbl JJ's.
If that sounds like fun to you then there's only one way to find out.
IMO it takes a lot of focus and effort to do significant damage with it.

JESTER is what I'd run with it. I think between the 90+ kph speed and the JJs it'd make a nice, nimble brawler, but it'll run hot.
I'd be more tempted to pick one up if I didn't already have three Catapult builds that I was happy with. If you like your Catapults and want something along the same lines as a K2 but that can jump, then the Jester is probably a decent call. If you don't want to sacrifice ballistics or missiles, though, you should look elsewhere.

I like my jester. You can fit 1-2 jump jets, 18-20 DHS, 0-2amses, and 4mlas with 2ppcs in with an xl325 or Xl 350. The high engine rating is great, you can position yourself for support fire as well as a shadowhawk and your high ppc mounts allow fairly safe play.
Downsides include: pretty hot if you need to throw out more than 2 of your 40 damage alphas, large CT, and lack of flexibility in builds (true for all catapults).
Some of my best games to date have been in my jester, including ones that I wouldn't have been able to win for the team in any other of my mechs. I have a good story and screenshot to go with it if there's interest, but it'll be a couple hours before I'm at my computer to get it uploaded.

I really like the Jester. I use it with 3 Large Lasers. And putting in a XL-Engine makes no difference, since you get hit in the CT most of the time anyway.
And a Heavy with JJ's is always a nice addition.

when i am in the zone it is hell on wheels, if i am just a little off or my team disappears from under me, it is brutal to me. also it is a glass tiger. get a good marksmen hitting on you 3 shots and you are out. never stop moving once engaged
been running the weapons on a 5 button setup. left side ml, right side ml, all ml, both erll on one button chained and both erll grouped. by hitting the all ml and then the grouped erll nice alpha you can use about 3 times. heat can be a problem, but manageable. when the heat warning goes off stick to the left or right ml or chained erll. cools of very fast. run it like a giant jenner never stand still and jump around a lot. best if you can dart into and out of a furball quickly.
