I hadn't even thought of that. But then again i fail to imagine what that will be like.

But please everyone read my last post at page 1. It really explains what it's like for me to play MWO.

I know this is kind of a textwall but the 2nd lowest part is a summary of one of my recent matches so it explains a lot.

Well...we all have our viewpoints. And i can most certainly understand your viewpoint. I have seen the matchmaker struggling at times.
But right now a lot of players are playing the game in a state that is barelly playable.
That isn't good for business either. They will lose customers for certain over time if it continues like this.

Most of the time i can fight almost normaly but with some lag that stops me from using PPC, AC, Gauss on a moving target accuratly even if i myself is standing still.
I can hit stuff....but not reliably.
Anything other than lasers, flamer, MG, LRM, streak missiles are almost hopeless to use reliably.
Below is a sample of what i experienced in a match just a few moments ago.

First 2-3 minutes of the fight was the usual lag, but controllable. Then the rubberbanding started. I teleported all over the place.
For a few seconds i'm firing into the back of a Highlander.
Then i'm out in the open with a hill behind me.
The next moment i'm about 100 meters away from there facing a hillside. Then i get disconnected.

No matter how you look at it that is not a state that can be called....perfectly acceptable for the non North American players.

I'm talking from a view point of a European, I'm in UK, I'm getting ping times of between 97-122 these days

I seem to recall that Wargaming net split european servers when the population grew to 900,000 logged on which would suggest that about 450,000 is about the level of free, premium accounts , where its worth the expenseto set up servers.

now i've no reliable data but a site did estimate traffic on, I believe it was forum posts uk wasn't even in the top ten, with Germany top.

but taking into acount all european nations it wasn't even a quarter of the north american numbers.

this was done about a year ago before 'launch'

But it made me realise that no matter how unreliable the figure were, the number of active european players needed would have to be about double it is now for it to be cost effective

well i love to know too. And rumors says there are a lot more non US players than US

That is certainly how I see it, being a U.S. based MWO player with the majority of my player friends being Euro based, and that is very Kool!
I remember back within MW3 online community how much fun it was to discover and make new friends from over the World. It is very appropriate for the MWO Universe to be grouped on one MEGA SERVER! Online gaming demonstrates just how small this Big Blue Marble really is when we can all connect together. B)

I get 150-180 ping most days, but i've seen guys playing with 250 or worse. Those guys can probably only LRM boat for most of their matches.
Whooops....gotta go. Time for me to head to work.

What? Seriously? I play from Australia with a ping anywhere between 240 and 260, i also have a quad PPC Stalker i still run and STILL have a 2.18 KDR in, playing entirely solo.

Host State Rewind virtually eliminated Latency as a factor in my games. Occasionally, on receiving damage, it can be a pain, taking RT damage with my LT facing the source sucks, but my RT was indeed facing him when he took his shot. The same in reverse.
When i shoot, i hit. When i hit, people crumple. I wish more games would use HSR.

I unfortunatly am not gifted with hitting targets when i lag badly. I'm a light mech pilot too so i can't stand still much.
But once the rubberbanding kicks in....the rubberband effect is like....

Imagine your a living ball of yarn. Sometimes a sadistic kitten decides to play with you. You tumble this way and that way.
Then your left alone for a little while and then suddenly he is back. You get thrown all over the place and then he bites down hard.
Disconnect.

The rubberband doesn't care how thick your armor is nor how good your KDR is. Once it strikes you're finished.

I am connecting from EU and im usually experiencing under 100 ping.
I have no problems what so ever with server stability.

If they end up introducing regional servers, you will have the one time option to switch regions for free.

This is a major drawback, if you migrate to the EU server, this means that you will no longer be able to play with NA friends and participate in community matches with anyone from the rest of the world.

You will not be able to log back into NA unless you pay (presumably a substantial fee based on other games).

I for one am content sharing servers with the rest of the world and will probably not migrate given the option.
