Schoolboy puns aside, the Yen-Lo has been giving me issues. Most players understand how neutered it is if you take out that big ballistic right arm...and it seems when I build a Yen-Lo with a standard for survivability, it ends up getting neutered pretty quick.
So, is taking an XL and switching it into a fast medium the way to go...or should I work on my tanking skills with a STD engine (granted, I haven't played the damn thing, so that torso twist is slow and short, and the arm shield isn't as effective yet as it should be).

Tanking in a Cent - even when it has "Zombi" quality?
I run my Wang with a 300XL - > Speed is life - i don't need armor - because no enemy Mech has weapons in the rear - and speed is good - was able to follow a Firestarter yesterday and kill him with two well placed AC 20 shots in the rear (the little ****** thought he can run faster than me - (well he was faster but not fast enough)

dude. I hated my Yenlow. Biggest piece of crap, i got murdered it till i mounted a 295xl wow what a difference. now it scores 400+ per game easy. wait till the enemy is engaged then run in strafe wit da ac20 and run back out. rince and repeat. having the speed makes it harder for them to shoot of your ballistic arm and 2 mplas give u a nice highspeed punch if you do loose it. It is freeking brilliant. Now my fav mech

I would stick with the standard and work on your tanking.
Firm believer that this is the best way to run it.
YEN-LO-WANG
Just need to have surgical aim with the AC20 and make sure you are not the focus target. I've seen dual ultra builds work well with XL's, but I would never recommend an XL in a cent, just too risky.
All always, results may vary depending on your ELO.

If you want to run the XL, I'd run this.
YEN-LO-WANG
I prefer the quicker recycle and projectile rates.

I prefer the XL version. You can also mount an AMS like this http://mwo.smurfy-ne...01a36720ec4ed07 . The speed is very useful
