We already know the matchmaker is capable of sorting by faction. Let's give people a reason for those faction tags before a full CW system is implemented.

Let's have ourselves a Simple Little War Day. Here's how it works:

Eliminate ELO sorting for one day- and groups will be sorted/scored in by the majority faction in their group. The server will pick teams by taking all available groups of a faction, then single members of a given faction, then adding Lone Wolf players to fill in any gaps.

Pew pew shall occur for a 24-hour period. Winning a match will be tallied for the faction you played for, regardless of LW or factional status, and the number of matches you won for a faction will also be tallied.

At the end of said Simple Little War, the faction with the most wins shall receive a day's worth of premium time for players that have the majority of their match wins for said faction- which will mean people with the appropriate faction tags generally, and lone wolf minions as well. The stats for said Simple Little War shall be published afterwards for all to see how much effort their faction put into giant robot stompings.

And bragging rights, of course. At least till next week. The losers shall only know shame and the heaping of ridicule on those lower than them in the standings as cold comforts while the victorious faction enjoys their day of bonus exp and C-bills for superior robot mashing skills.

I would, of course apologize that the Confederation would win such a contest for months in a row, but that would imply it needed apologizing for. Ha!

Nothing saying they can't also put in stuff like that, token amounts of MC, whatever. Sky's the limit, we just got a medium 'Mech for simply winning 5 times...

Much as I dont really care about CW, this would be fun, and I tend to try and do it in my head in game on occasion

I am an ancient Capellan warrior, we are cunning and devious beasts when you're not looking.

And after all, not only can lone wolves participate, but if they join a majority-of-one-faction group, they can drop with a specific faction and max their odds for the prize if they group up. Mercenary, but isn't that the whole purpose of lone wolves?

Or....just change your faction tag for the day and see how the House warriors roll. That's cool too!

This is an awesome enough Idea that it would be a sweet monthly event on weekends. It would be like a mini CW every month

that would be cool, win for your faction and have a paint scheme or decals for C-bills or even a cockpit item.

House decals as a teritary portion of a camo pattern. Win one for the Suns, be able to sprinkle the Sun-and-Sword all over your 'Mechs.
