ELO MM is short for "Everything Looks Okay" MatchMaking.
"We put all the newbies on one side in six Trial 'Mechs, everything looks OK to me."
"We put all the newbies on one side in six Trial 'Mechs, everything looks OK to me."

Or maybe, just maybe YOU are wrong and don't know the other players on the other side.
or
Maybe just MAYBE, your Elo isn't as "elite" as you thought it was

No, I'm pretty much agreeing with Wanderer. There is NO way I should see 12 zip matches more than once every few days IF it was working as intended.
As it is, we see 12 zip or 12/1,2 matches two or three times a night?
And all too often the last man standing does 400+ damage, one kill 6-8 assists?
Hell no, half our team should have been on their side and visa versa.
I LOVE matches that go down to 3-4 survivors. THATS entertainment!
Rollups and "gg" are for goofs

Oh, Sandpit. Please, play devil's advocate some more. I spent half the match answering dead newbie questions from the guys in the Trials while we watched the meta-lovin lance+ on the other side chasing down the Jenner and Raven we had left after about 4 minutes of fighting. I was in a Wolverine, those don't last long when the guys in front of you are charging and dead inside 30 second or so each. Fired once, CT was internal, fired again while turning and moving 80kph, Jenner zips in and cores me and I don't even have yellow armor damage anywhere else. Surely, these were players of at least roughly equal skill to the six I was discussing such deep wisdom as "why didn't my LRMs hit at 100m" and "what's the R key for?". Until the match ended 12-1 cause one of the enemy accidentally FF'd a scout trying to shoot the Jenner.
Everything Looks OK to you too, right?

I try and curtly type in "visit the forums for all answers mwomercs.com"
it maddening watching two of your lance on spawn start dumping all their ballistic ammo into a hillside
or some goof running with the flamer on accidently hitting your team, then claiming 'it didn't hit you', 'it was only a little damage', 'they (the enemy) can't see us' etc..
last night, was GREAT for my ego, 8 battles FOUR were 12/ 2 or 3. We just rolled 'em up. My ePeen was enormous..sort of made up for the battles saturday night where our lance (drop) did all the damage, we still lost horribly
maybe thats how ELO works? you rule, then you serve, rule, serve etc...averages out?

Basically, the MM will match it's first team with whatever's closest to each other in ELO ranking.
By the time it hits the other 12, it "matches" by slapping newbies in with higher ELO players to give you an "average" which is frequently half folks that are nowhere near a match for the first group + random experienced players.
Of course, this really isn't a "match", even if it's numerically averaged to look like it, and steamrolls occur.
