This is essentially the build i have with it currently. I do like being close range but I want to try out the LRM game a bit. I can always switch it back afterwards if I hate any build I make.
Despite what everyone says about Medium LRM Skirmishers being the best for boating, I found the Onion's to be supreme LRM boats. Not so slow that you can't get your own locks/run back to the team, and not so fragile that a misstep into an AC20/2xPPC VTR or HGN ends your game.
My best success LRM'ing was actually in the -VA I posted, swapping out the MPulse for another Heatsink and ton of ammo IIRC.
Good luck, and I hope to see you on my team at some point. I know how dangerous those things can be

I only sold my ON1-K but yeah, Protector (Iv named it Greed) keeps me pretty busy in the heavy class though I still have my VA collecting some dust.
Huh, the -K was my last one to Master (I have a thing about eliting/mastering all mechs of a chassis I buy, eventually) and, despite early thoughts, it turned out to be my second best Orion. Obviously the Protector trumped it, but putting an ERPPC in the LT and an AC20 in the RT pretty much renders any other Orion brawler irrelevant.
Damnit. I'm saving to rebuy all the Trebs I sold (I should stop selling mechs I like, to buy new chassis' I have no idea about) but now I'm sorely tempted to pick up these behemoths again. It would be nice if they had the damage reduction of the Stalker/Atlas when the enemy tries to shoot through a destroyed ST, but that would make them obscenely OP.
