So sometimes we need to take it in perspective not every promo is aimed at you and in reality businesses do need to make cash so they will roll out variants of previous promotions . It might be boring and sometimes get on your **** but nobody has ever asked Maca's to stop doing the burger.
With time and more in game options I am sure we will see greater depth of offers being aimed at more distinct player groups.
Many games go through early issues and this game is not alone in its issues, but time in general will smooth things out or they will go arse up and all your comments will prove valid. But your victory will be hollow as we wont have a game and another attempt at the franchise will fail, so I will remain positive so not to deter new players and keeping the community going forward and not tearing itself apart.

Not only do they cost a ridiculous amount, they are also limited in use? What gives?

I like to run a consistent pattern/unit color scheme.
Unfortunately, I run a lot of mechs.
4500 MC to apply to all the chassis I own (9000, half off) plus 750 for every new chassis I buy.
I could apply them individually (only 3000 MC after the 50% reduction) but realized I'd have to apply them all *today*. And that's far more time than I want to spend coloring today. But I at least considered it.
I'd say a global unlock would make it a lot more tempting. But it would probably be priced at 7,500 MC. Still, I would be more likely to pay 3,750 MC to globally unlock a camo forever. Although that's still too much for me.
I think to get me to buy a global unlock camo pattern, the price would have to be 3,000 MC. No higher. Something I can look at and clearly say "okay, $15."

The Stalker is a fine mech but your bait and switch crap is getting real old.
Keep pissing on the core players is a real fine business plan.
Make this right!

How long does it usually take PGI to give their mechs different paint schemes? IIRC it had taken anywhere from a handful of weeks to a fistful of months?
Typically the paint scheme shows up when the mech is released officially.
Firestarters came right off the bat.
For the Locust it was available on day one.
Shadowhawks could not be painted until official release day.
Thunderbolt not until their release.
Battlemaster when their release came.
But Griffin got released, no paints because firestarter?
So what about when the new one comes? Who gets the paints?

Does seem like a slight oversight on PGI's part... It seems like the Firestarter might have jumbled things up too much...

This seems massively out of place and only barely relating to the subject matter.
Sounds like someone should make a (nicely worded) topic in the suggestions forum. But do recall that PGI has to make money somewhere. They aren't selling the game for $50 a game, and $50 an expansion, but that it's free to play... (Unlike MW2-3-4...)
By the way, this has already been suggested to PGI. The maps they are worried about quality and balance. Paint patterns they are worried about losing money if "people could make their patterns for free". (Maybe suggest a "design your own cammo" contest similar to the "design your own cockpit item" contest that was recently done? That might be an idea PGI will bite. See what I did there? Bite? Fishing? Catch of the day? Nevermind...)
