When attempting to connect to a match I keep getting kicked back to the Mechlab. No level splash screen is displayed.

Things I have tried:
* Running the repair tool multiple times

* Using multiple PPTP VPNs

* Lowering my MTU to 1458

* A Fresh MWO install on a new system

* Submitted a ticket. . .

This has never occurred until yesterday, days after patching. The only other thing to note is that I went on a selling spree prior to this occurring. Any assistance would be appreciated.

* Created a new account - Does not connect to a match on either system.

You guys may want to check out this topic to see if you have anything in common with the folks in that thread in terms of who your service provider is or the route you're taking to get to the game servers:

well i am not in UK and i dont have any of those providers and neither do i receive any netwrok error message. it searches for a map, loads for a second and returns back to the main menu. i am pretty much sure its not my conenction as i can play other online games perfectly fine.

I scoured the forums and had read through that thread. Logging in is not the root cause of the problem; connecting to a match is.

I too have been having this problem in a couple of fits yesterday. I would press launch, the game would go to a black screen (load screen basically) after it found a match, and then after a few moments kick me out to mechlab. Then, my mech was in the match, but I must have lost my passport, or did I forget my luggage? Either way, it was at the tale end of the tournament that this was happening to me.

I was eventually able to continue playing after 10-15 minutes of trying. I have not tried again today though.

For me, I think it was just timing with the possible shutting down of the tournament or something. But I've also been having a problem with this site (and Deviantart) taking a while to load and refreash. It's intermittent with the website...

I thought it might have been something to do with the tournament so I created a new account and did a fresh install on an entirely different system. I still have the same issue, every attempt.

I have never had any connection related issues prior to this.

If it was server/system wide because of the tournament, then a new account and fresh install wouldn't change anything.

Are you still having problems now? I'm having no problems this morning, and the tournament is over.

I'm seeing a similar problem when I attempt to launch a game from MechLab. First it is "Searching" for a game, then shows the "Connecting" screen, then finally loads MechLab again, with my Mech shown as in game.

Mind you, I'm still trying to connect from Afghanistan, where I have been prone to occasional mid-game disconnects during high load hours on my network, but this behavior is new. I will make another attempt when fewer people are online before submitting a ticket.

Honestly, I'm surprised that I was able to play for any length of time, but despite the high ping, the mid-game disconnects I experienced were limited to specific times of day and were relatively rare. I'm curious as to what may have changed, such that I can no longer launch a game.

Hey Cyphersphere,
I apologize, I had a reading comprehension fail there. As to your specific issue, it almost sounds like a port blocking problem in that case. A similar example that I can provide: I have my work laptop sitting next to my home PC. I can can connect via the home PC and play just fine. From my work laptop, connected via VPN, I can connect into the MechLab and actually launch a search but it will then drop me back to MechLab with that mech locked up in the match.

Have there been any updates to your router or network setup recently that you are aware of? Also, who is your service provider? It very much sounds like a particular port is being blocked that's not allowing the 'handshake' of the actual match start between your client and the server to occur which is what causes you to be dropped back to mech lab.

Not that I am aware of. At this point I'm going to see what PGI says. If it's network related, I think I'll capture and analyze the traffic myself then have a chat with my Service Provider.

i will try it out again after i get back from work. if it was a router blocking issue wont it be effecting every other game? why MWO only? cause i am able to play wargame airland battles, wargame red dragon and warthunder without any issue and same kind of ping that i usually get.

one reason i thought for this weird issue was the medium vs the world thing. so lets see if it gets any better.

this is the first time i have had this issue and i have been playing this game since closed beta....

The router blocking a port was just one possible example out of a few scenarios. As to other games not being blocked, generally each game communicates on any number of TCP/UDP ports that are different from other games.

It could also be something completely different of course, just looking to offer likely scenarios for a fix to be found. ;)

I have been having no problems today personally. I had a problem near 1 AM yesterday though (eastern time), which could have been from the tourney being removed or something... ;)

My issue was resolved using a Paid VPN service provider to a Canadian Server. TBD if it is the ISP or something along the path
