Not going to say that it won't be deadly. But, what I will say is that it'll end up as the Jaeger DD or S but on one side which means that it'll suffer the same fate as the Atlas. It looks good on paper but how many times do the Atlas drivers end up losing that precious AC torso? It is quite annoying.

Those are my thought as well, but 2xUAC5+2xAC2 combo gives 14.36DPS and possible 20+DPS with double tapping, entirely heat efficient. It has to have a weakness.

By my experimentation in Smurfys, the Banshee should be able to accomodate 2 PPCs, 3 AC/5 (8 tons of ammo), nearly max armor (4 points off each leg), a STD300 engine, 14 dubs, and a joke Small Laser in the head.

Or, if you fancy a bigger engine, you can swap 2 of those AC/5 for an AC/10 to free up some weight.

Nah, go dakka or go home baby! STD 300, 2 AC2/2AC5/2LL, 15 DHS...heats actually not terrible at 31% Smurfy's...but I tend to ride that line pretty close...it'll be fun :)

3 AC5 2 LL can stay on my muromets ;)

Lol at the people saying the Atlas sucks. Must be puggers who think the Atlas should be able to take on a entire lance alone. Play it the way it was meant to be played, and it doesn't suck. Push through those enemy lines, and soak damage.

I have taken 3 Phracts in my D-DC... But its always that 4th that gets ya! I think I need to get me the Steiner's Atlas.

it really does look like a kintaro.

Its the head that's really weak looks like it got punched through its shoulders, but yes, its a recycled kintaro head, disappointing, but hey you can have red nose day with the Hero variant.

Weak design like the last Assault, was looking forward to this after the Ember, but seriously dropped the ball again.

Will I buy it, sure, as I want all the old TRO3025 mechs but, unless the next assault is a total charm, if its not orginal TRO the money stays in my wallet

Is it wrong that despite this mech being ancient and supposedly rather inferior (both in the lore and perhaps in game due to lack of jump jets), I still want one?

I admit it - the first time I ever played Battletech was with a Griffin (did okay with it) and the second was with a Banshee. I died heroically kicking in the chest of an Atlas in that grinder event. Nostalgia may have no place on the battlefield, but still...

I love it. Those Steiner fools got exactly what they were begging for. May a more worthy faction make the next mech request.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from the pictures I've seen posted it seems like if you do not have a missile equipped that giant missile box disappears and the mech's hit box shrinks a little, correct?

Not nearly enough ammo.

Average is 3 tons per gun. (exception is Mguns) At the very least you would need 2 tons per gun if you planned on leaning on the ppc's alot.

Personally I would prefer something a bit more schizo

Solid alpha, very strong dps.

The Atlas has its faults but as a long range platform it works rather well with a little help from your team. I am running a d-dc with 2 ERLL"s and 3 LRM 15's and when I get a little help (which does not happen much) I can bring in a storm while my team picks the enemy apart. It is a very good support mech in most cases. I am going to try out the Banshee to see how she runs.
