just gonna throw in.

La Malinche is meant to represent the ride of notable pilot "El Guapo"

additionally, the head energy hardpoint is mounted on the forehead of all the normal variants. Only the hero version has the energy hardpoint in the mouth. I thought it would suit the personality of this ride. Toss a flamer in there for a hauptman style cigar.

Alex Iglesias! Big fan of yours for a long time.
I loved the Banshee 5S concept at. So... can you (or someone at PGI) share it with us? (in good resolution)

WHY THE F DOES IT HAVE 5 FINGERS PLUS A THUMB?

NO MORE WEIRD HANDS!

six-fingered hands
two opposable thumbs
the claw (not so bad actually, its the others)

Maybe it's a mutant and was born with 6 fingers?

Seriously, a robot can have as many fingers as it's designers want.

IMO, there is no rule that says they can't come up with their own variants.

Thus far we haven't been required to buy any "Hero mechs" in order to unlock a chassis.

I have a cat (Tiki) with 7 digits on 1 front paw, 6 on the other front, and 4 on one rear paw and 5 on the other rear... dude... she has thumb(s)... and will eviscerate your face if not careful LOL! Tiki is a cutie though... not like the Banshee.

Isn't here a jump capable version of the Flashman 8K? FLS-8KR to go with the FLS-8K and FLS-7K makes three. Not 100% sure that's an official variant. Unfortunately with MWO style hard-points many people would argue that there's no real point to the Flashman, and from a game play perspective they'd be more or less correct.

It's not an official variant that I'm aware of: http://www.masteruni...t/Details/1124/

It would also be very similar to a QKD-5K, except for being able to mount more armor. (Or an AWS-8Q, but faster).

I don't know why everyone claims they've taken other mechs and rescaled the parts. Once I get my hands on the model file I'll pull it apart and do some side by sides.

That would be really interesting... at least Banshee shoulders look like they come directly from shadowhawk, with some extra padding added. Then it would be more than gut feeling

It's a very dull 3D model. MWO's mechs are starting to look a bit too similar. I hope they can do something better for the Mauler.

One more missile hardpoint would go along way in making this viable. If this truly was supposed to have JJs and they took them out because of the P2W crowd, that is deeply disappointing. I'd hate to think that whiners dictate what goes into this game. In any case i think the 4 ballistic 3E would be better than this even if it did have JJs.

There's a lot that suggests this hero did originally have JJs. I can kinda understand why they got rid of them - would anyone ever buy a Heavy Metal or a Dragon Slayer again if they could buy a hero with a DS' speed and 5 more tons than the HM?

The Banshee's mother still loves her.

We appreciate the additional mechs, and all of the great skins. I don't see a huge difference in the loadout from any other mech in its weight class. It seems more like a regurgitated mech to me, a lot like the ember, which was recently released.

I appreciate the need to garner funds to continue serving the game, but what we really want is a reason to play.... Can we please get community warfare soon? All else is pointless noise IMHO.

Spoiler

Actually it's worse than that. If you look at the legs you can see that there are two images of the 'mech, one on top of the other. Which is why it appears to have more weapons than it should. Makes you wonder how on earth that image ever got approved.

This seems like less an announcement thread and more a "banshee is bad" thread.

That's unfortunate. With an energy hardpoint in the "mouth", it would have partially redeemed what is otherwise a horribly ugly design.

See, there I have to disagree with you. I want to see the deaths head, and I cannot see it with a medium laser stuck in the mouth of the Banshee.

I am happy to hear that the other Banshees have a forehead laser.
