i think this is caused by their anti aliasing (on my card atleast)...

switching it to off seems like to get rid of the ghost effect. (even that only works in testing grounds...not in the matches)

However i have problems in making it STAY off... it turns itself on at start of matches or returning from matches (despite being off in the option menu)... anti aliasing can be detected by naked eye you know..!

Im getting similar issues, my solution was to turn off motion blur. was the same in both DX9 and DX11, very odd.

Yes i used to sometime hit 20's and lways stayed over 30 now i am hitting 15-20 mostly under 30.
  • Ghosting in dx9.
  • Huge FPS drop.
  • Is wrecking my game.
  • Used repair tool to creat new cfg
  • Reinstalled drivers for GPU
  • No AA
  • Setting the same as pre patch
  • No issues pre patch

omega sums it up nicely. Switching it on then off stops it for one game for me but thats it have to repeat the process each game to make it go away or take a 10-20 fps hit..

Same problem here. It hit my FPS pretty hard.

It used to be r_UseEdgeAA = 0 to fix this issue in dx9... however omicron reports [Warning] Unknown command: r_UseEdgeAA

maybe try:
r_PostMSAA = 0
r_PostMSAAMode = 0

Posted this in another thread, but it looks like it rather belongs here.
Happens when I'm not looking around, instantly goes away as soon as I move my mouse, but then fades in when I stop doing that.

Might be related to the issue with motion blur.
Playing with settings/config I get mixed results, but can't make it go away completely.

EDIT: Running two 780s in SLI, windowed mode, was fine pre-patch.

Guys, please try this:
1) Enter some map (testing grounds should work?).
2) Try setting the graphics preset to "VERY HIGH", then "LOW".
3) See if the bug is still there.
4) Get back to the hangar and enter another map - if it disappeared after "2", it should be back by now.

I'm getting this too.
Tried everything, frim the jn-game settings to user.cfg modification, but nothing, the motion blur stays. I'm playing on dx9.
However, the fps seems the same as pre-patch.

Its a big problem for me, I can still run the game, but when its all blurry looking and FPS are dropping so badly during combat its not enjoyable.

I've been playing other games hoping that a simple hotfix will get released soon, untill then no MWO for me.

Guys, go into the mechwarrior/USER directory and delete the shader directory. After discussing things with support, I did that, and so far my FPS appears to be back to normal with almost no stuttering.

I just noticed this problem when playing on Caustic Valley. I was starting to think that I'd somehow gotten drunk until I saw this thread.

And, yeah, turning off Motion Blur - in game and in user.cfg - does nothing.

Did this and the problem was fixed for me anyway. Now anyone got a work around for the fps loss? (about 10-15) since last omni nerf ...I mean.. patch.

Yeah, I'm still getting some motion blur like that, even with the shaders fix.

There are some solutions that do get rid of motion blur, but for me at least it always comes back. Sometimes during the play session, but always by next launch. I've given up trying and hope it gets fixed next patch.
