Well, I got little bit confused by reading things written here, is it now better than before to load 5 JJs in my trebuchet? Can it jump higher but slower ?

I was actually coming to the forums to post about this...The jumpjet change MURDERED Highlanders, but victors dont feel the change at all....The jump distance was unchanged, however it takes ages even with max jumpjets to get the mech up in the air...now before you say "QQ MOAR POPTART N00B" THIS is my recently purchased 733C build. There is nothing meta about it, I simply like the option that the jumpjets made the mech more manuverable, and gave me the option of lobbing an ac20 over a hill before i got in close to mix it up. I now have no reason to Pilot that mech over an atlas whatsoever, an will definitly be repurchasing my 9B to join the increasing poptarting masses since I have ALL the atleses, battlemasters, and stalkers worth having and no desire to pursue the new banshee assault.

So you didn't "Poptart" with your non-Meta Highlander before the patch but due to the JJ changes, you will now go BUY another Poptart capable Mech and then join the masses?

Why not just put more JJ's on your Highlander and carry on? lol

So, what? About 2-3 months of Victors running around Poptart murdering people with their Class II jump jets...then Paul comes and makes some silly post foreshadowing the nerf of Victors?

Lets set the over/under at 2 and a half months. GO.

Better to just move the Class 1 weight base down to include 75+ tons. Now the Victor is included for the 2 ton JJ class.

P.S. The 75t Orion does not possess JJ's so it won't be nerfed. lol :D

Seeing as it was never a pop-tart and can it still traverse terrain like it use to, then what is the issue again? I smell a pop-tart in disguise me thinks..

So the question is...why did this hit the HGN so hard, and the Victor is fine and dandy?

Because it's based on the class of JJ, and Victors are just light enough to stay with the 1-ton jets, I believe.

That's fine, 3D is fragile so if you can get a brawler on close you can eat them up. We don't want poptarting to go away completely just to weaken it to the point there are effective counter strategies that don't involve jumping sniping better

Highlanders are so dang tough getting in close to fight them was a bad idea but staying out just made you poptart food. Now when you get in close to the ultra tough HGN he may have trouble keeping up with you thanks to reduced turn speed in jump. Yes it was the same axial speed as when rotating on ground at a stop but you could do it while still moving in the original jump direction and that made a big diference if you knew how to work it.

This change is good.

Have to agree with my esteemed hombre FB here. Even Victors are fragilesince most run XLs, I was able to take on a fresh DS with a Gauss 2 x AC2s Jager at brawling range no problem. In other words since most poptarts have ST vulnerabilities but as always closing the distance is the issue. If the JJ scaling cuts down on how many volleys they can get off while I close in then all the better.

The biggest change to the JJs, though, was the cool down. Some might say that this provides the poptarters with better heat efficiency as they have to wait a bit longer to fire now that it takes longer to get up into the air. Personally, I say that it keeps them in their covered area a bit longer which allows smart players to meneuver with and kill the enemy. Maybe teams will stop building their companies around mass amounts of slow lumbering one trick ponies and add in some actual speed (outside of the Jenner masses).

No teams play this game...it is 84% pugs. How do pugs build a team?

before the nerf atlas outturns highlander, now with JJ change atlas can actually kite highlander staying its dead zone. other then that swapped uac for ac5, put another JJ in (two total) and have not noticed any change in how often I can jump snipe. standard play 2 volleys & start moving for couple seconds. rinse & repeat... GJ on nerfs folks, like always primary goal not accomplished.

No I understand that.

What I'm saying is...why would you go through all this just to leave the Victor as is?

90+% of all people who ever played backyard American football have never even been on a High School team, let alone College or professional teams.

That doesn't mean there are "no teams" playing American football.
