Random Dice Rolls

For a game that says it doesn't want random dice rolls, it sure seems like that's what we're getting with arty strikes that hit you in the head randomly and kill you.

Long ago SRMs and LRMs did rule the roost due to the way splash damage affected the Head. The SplatCat, the 6 SRM6 Catapult was able to take down even an Atlas in one volley if it got to point blank range.

To counter this problem, they practically made the cockpit invulnerable to LRMs and SRMs.

At the very least they should do that with Arty and Airstrikes.

What would be nice is for Arty and Air not to have random hits inside the area but instead act as splash damage that deals damage to those inside of it's area.

Arty is an AoE Weapon. If your head is in that AoE there is a chance you will get gonged!

Crits are also purely random.

Maybe 1 out of 50 will heat shot someone. Doesnt seam like to much of a problem to me.I been dual gauss headshot more.

We roll a dice on every single time we fire a weapon.
Maybe Hitreg is so bad to make dicerolling TT guys happy :P :P

After watching an opposing mech headshot 4 of our mechs when they were moving laterally at 90+ kph and at 600+ meters with an AC5 in rough terrain, all I can say is that there must be some loaded dice being used or the RNG needs a look at.

I've only been head shotted once, while cleaning spilt coffee. It was the only time i've ever had my head destroyed. I think it was a PPC stalker. Not saying it doesn't happen, but I can't be that lucky.

To be fair., PGI has stated that they will do something (either reduced head DMG or not allowing strikes to hit heads) to counter this problem. However, seeing as Paul is completely incompetent this fix will most likely break something else or include a completely aribrary, unitutiive mechanic with poorly made charts to try and explain it

reducing damage seems like a fair compromise between the two camps. Your head is in the blast area so should not be left out of getting hit. I don't like the idea of reducing damage, but I don't hate it.

As I have not used a lot of missiles lately I did not recognize that. I think it is a dumb idea but at least it's not I can never hit the head. That is just brainless.

UAC's are also rolling dice. Sometimes I fire without double shot and BLAM, jam!

I think I get head shotted once every 2000 games.

To what back to the old days when no one used them? If your drop the dmg you better drop the price and get ready for more people to use them.

Drop the damage on the HEAD only. I only support this cause some people just don't want their toon to die. And it is he lesser of two evils.

Bah, keep the damage the same, but spread it out.

Double the bombs to 20, half the damage to 20. Same damage potential, no instant killing.
