CASE can't be critted so it isn't padding anything.

I suppose it's possible I don't understand the probability system.

I generally have ammo in legs/CT/head so not a heavy CASE user, but I thought the slots all counted for the incoming damage?

First, Crits against the engine do nothing in MWO. In BT 3 Engine Crits killed you. In MWO, Engine Crits actually pad out the Crits for other items as the only way to lose an engine is to lose the entire torso housing the engine.

Second, empty Crits cannot be crit. In the TT if a Crit Roll turned up an empty result you would roll again. Same thing with the Structure and Armor Criticals for Endo and FF. This meant that if you had Ammo in a location otherwise filled with dynamic crits or empty then a crit to that location would always hit the ammo.

Thanks for the advice guys, I've reworked the Build quite a bit this evening and am thinking this one might turn out quite nicely. It packs a bit of extra punch (as long as you can aim) but still maintains the pulse laser beam speed and machine guns for finishing off hurt enemies. It also runs cool enough to probably use that flamer often as a great distraction, and spreads ammo out a bit so losing parts of the Mech won't screw you over so badly. The downside is I had to lower the armour a little in the torsos, but not too much:

BNC-R3E

Might the introduction of an XL400 viable Mech finally be the death of the stupidly OP Firestarter? The Banshee 3ER is especially suited to chasing Lights because of it's high speed, good armour and ballistic hardpoints supporting light killing machine guns. What do you guys think of this build:

BNC-3ER

The pulse lasers will fire quickly and recharge quickly too, and you can keep the machine guns trained on the Light's legs to take them out quickly. The LB10-X will be a great weapon to follow up and gives protection from heavier Mechs as well.

Can't wait to try this out!

can't wait either....35 leg armor? My Ember is going to NOMNOMNOM yo legs in no time!

Firing all of my weapons will take your leg off before you have time to open your mouth for the first "nom".

you have to lumber that thing around first. 150.2 kph plus JJs is still just a SKOSH faster than your mighty Light Hunter.....

Can we get a Hero Jenner that plays a loud "NOMNOMNOM" when you get a kill? Way cooler than Heavy Metal. ;)

Torso mounted weapons don't strike me as being the best for light killing, especially on an assault ;)

The best light hunter in the game is by far the AC/40 Jagerbomb. One-shot, one-kill. A close contender is a Gausscat or Gaussjag, or Gaussaphract). After that, reasonably fast mediums are next in line.

Lightkillers of either colour left aside ...
Doesn´t look to bad, but in the current Meta you WILL be suffering (either horrenduously orjust sligthly, depends on viewpoint), although those 75kp/h with speedtweak will make it look like a Battle"Sprint"master with CQB weaponry ... dont really want to go against that, but as a lightpilot you dont have too much choices ... lawl

Head Flamer...
Case on a torso with an Xl Engine...
No Ammo/Armor on legs...
Ammo in the CT...

Sad Face ;)

It's not like the Banshee is the first 'Mech in MWO capable of using a 400 XL engine... in fact, it's the second-slowest to do so. ;)

Thats a really bad mech.

Here I made it better while sticking to your weapons:
BNC-3E

But better try to stick with 3 weapons. Much easier to fight with.

I'd go with that:
BNC-3E

Note to self, next time I face Bishop Steiner, MG him in the rear CT.

Only if it has big, goofy teeth (think of the Jester, but with square teeth, and some missing).

get thru my armor first. I don't leave tissue paper there like the "Pros" do. (plus I'd be more worried about MY Ember pumping 4 mediums and 4 MGs into your tin heinie.)

Leave the wack-a-mole-role to mechs suited to it, your wasting what little potential the banshee has trying to shoehorn it into a task that a shadowhawk or griffin could do vastly better.
