All I'm asking is that the map be made a little less common. I understand that it's all random chance. but like I said I'm not the only one who thinks that the map is over used and generally disliked as a map in such.
If the random ghost heat was taken down a little so that energy mech's (like the Thunder Bolt or Battle Master for example) could be used without the almost certainty of being over heated and made into a 60 to 90 ton target with Shoot here painted on the CT then maybe people wouldn't rage as bad about the map.
Like I said. this is purely my opinion so take it as you will. But I seriously think that this map needs to be put on the back burner or have it's chance lowered so that it's not going to show up 7 out of 10 times.

While the map does have a high amount of environmental heat (tourmaline is actually hotter !) there is a lot of lava flows that will cause heat if you stand in it. I'm however not sure what you mean in regards to "random ghost heat" specific to the map...

Terra Therma rewards pilots with self control and teaches the rest of us a harsh lesson.

Second: Maps have nothing to do with "Ghost Heat" Some maps have higher ambient temperatures than others (which can affect your 'Mechs ability to cool down), but that's it. And this is very different than "Ghost Heat"

Third: Tourmaline IS NOT hotter. The temperature listed on the pre-round screen is just fluff, and is not indicative of the map's actual temperature. Terra is the hottest map.

Heat? Pfft... heat is the least of this map's problems for me. The low res textures, gimmicky lava, lame (even by 90's standards) animations, numerous stuck spots, monotonous landscape, invisible terrain to eat your shots, etc are what make this map so Terra Bad. The heat is a minor inconvenience compared to the assault on immersion.
tl:dr: soon MWO will be pay2notmordor

Source for these (bs) claims? Specifically, I'd like to know when it was stated that map votes are out of pug matches.
For the record, when map votes do get in, I will vote for Therma every time just to piss off the QQ babies.

Lol, you should pay more attention to what the devs say before assuming things people say that you don't like are bs. The ability to select which map you drop on will be a feature only available to users with premium time. If you want to *not play on Terra, you have to pay for premium time.
Also, I said nothing "pug matches" as you are specifically demanding evidence of. You will not be allowed to select maps at all in public matches, so there goes that assumption. In private matches however, the person that hosts the match only has the ability to select map only if they have premium time.
Basic Match Parameters: Premium Match Parameters:
- Map
- Tonnages Rules (Min, Max)
- Even Teams (Yes/No)
- Match Time ([5-25] mins)
- View Mode (1PV, 3PV, or Both)

I'd actually like to see an accurate listing of the maps' relative temps.
