MWO is a fun game! Thanks for making it! Now to my concern... Current subscription MMO's cost about $15/month to play. For this, you get all the bells and whistles...nothing left out. MWO is free to play, sort of. With $15 you can get 3000 MC. That will not get you very much at all. Not the majority of Hero mechs, or other "features". My question: Is MWO too pricey?

Not at all. The only thing worth getting with MC are more mech bays. Everything else is totally optional and not needed in order to thrive in the MWO Universe.

Yup. Spend your $15/mo, if you will, and buy premium time. Maybe get a mechbay here and there, then buy mechs with c-bills (they're better anyways). If there's a hero you particularly like, buy it instead of premium time for a month. Done.

Subscription MMOs like WoW are just that -- you pay $15 to play. You don't get anything extra for that money.
You can buy Premium Time (50% bonus C-Bills and 50% bonus XP) for $8 per month if you do it the smart way -- buy 25000 MC for $100, and then spend 24000 MC on 360 days of Premium Time. You still have 1000 MC to spend on something else.
Then you take the extra C-Bills and XP and buy 'Mechs and Master them much quicker than normal. You'd just need to buy Mech Bays.
Or, you can play (almost) for free, only buying 'Mech Bays as you need them to add to your stable of 'Mechs.

I think these answer your question, no it's not too expensive for some things, tho obviously some things are too expensive considering their value.

^ this.
Paint and Camo Patterns are a little overpriced.
Single use camo is very reasonable. Unless you repaint a lot, it's 50 cents or less per mech. Paint is a little steep, but goes on sale a lot. <shrug> I have no issues with the vanity prices. (Though I admit it helps that I use a unified paint scheme for all mechs)

MC Paints themselves seem expensive to me, but there are some decent basic paints that you can buy for Cbills.
