This is on all maps. On a DCed mech, the center of the map is displayed as it´s location, regardless of when the DC happened.
The only things that help locating a DC are visual cues and knowledge of the map topography

I thought that too, but then a player hit F9 while spectating the DC'd mech and reported the map coordinates that are displayed next to the FPS indicator. I was following my way to those coordinates when someone else found the DC and ended the game. So I don't actually know if that works, or if the coordinates shown in F9 are also the center of the map. Anyone else try this? Seems like it should work.

I think coordinates on a D/C are working fine. I was able to find a DC with that.
Regards,
BTW: PGI please fix the reported DC guys issue, it was working fine before UI 2.0

that will be fine, but i think it is possible to count dc as killed or simply do not count them as alive after all another teammates are killed, sometimes you get a tie because dcs are not in game but still "alive"

Odd. I recently had a assault game (not sure wich map), where the others clearly hada DC mech and after killing the 11 active Players on the map, the game ended.
I know it in particular as everyone was hunting the last light and I went to hunt the DC guy at thier start point, but the game finished with 11 Kills (said light finaly got mowed down) for my team.

F9 does work. The coordinates are not like on the map with a letter/number combination, but the POS data will lead you to where you need to go.

You can also hit F9 and use the coordinates shown there for locating purposes...Then tell the searchers what the coordinates are...they can then turn their F9 on and go to those coordinates...just make sure you only do this for Disco'd personnel..is illegal in any other situation.
