There has been a marked drop in quality of players since the patch. I've seen more trial Mechs, and people meandering around in 3PV unable to break 100 damage than I have in a long time. Did the brackets get wider?

I agree, something changed Tuesday, March 11th. I'm seeing much more marked difference in the players lately. Hell I played a game last night where I was the only person to break 200 damage on my team. I know this is anecdotal, but the difference between Monday and Tuesday are stark.

I'm used to this, as I don't feel that much of a difference (maybe I need to play more to increase my sample size).

Maybe your Elo has hit peak values (I'm fairly sure mine hasn't since I lose a lot ;) ).

possibly....
some skilled players became hogtied by turrets in all assault maps with result of boring sniping and base camping tactics
the mostly anwer i get asking why don´t you play anymore is "no fun since turrets", "i have no options since turrets, i´m depended on the team and it´s unable to get whole team work together" and " if i shall to play against computer-steered enemies in multiplayer online game i better play offline MW4"

i thnk a lot of higher end ELO players are just quitting or severely lowering their hours played.

I log on and normally would see a full friends list of competitive players online and playing. Now I see 5-10 online, do 1-2 solo drops, get bored, log off.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with another highly anticipated product release featuring mechanized combat.

Chris Roberts tweeted.

Or maybe a combination of turrets, burnout after the tournament and some sort of plunging giant game just released.

Had a match yesterday where after doing 700+ damage and then dying , watched our sole surviving team mech refuse to engage the last few heavily damaged enemy mechs as they took our base because he was afraid that " my mech might be damaged or destroyed".................I mean, really?!
