is there an online library anywhere of just the colors, camo specs, etc where you can just make a color scheme and post it on a forum? Or at least just see them?

Lots of nice looking stuff here. Otherwise if you have the mech, you can try any color and pattern in the mechlab without buying. (I'm pretty sure)

http://camospecs.com/ is a great resourse. It's for TT/Minis but works for all Battletech stuff as well.
It lists just about all colors for canon units, and often has photographs of miniatures done up in unit colors.

Edit: Think I misunderstood what you were asking. If you're asking if there's somewhere you can see what all the colors and camo specs available in-game look like, then not really. However, if you go to the camo screen, you can freely play around with the colors and schemes for free. You're not charged until you hit the checkout button, but you can still see what all the colors and whatnot look like before you purchase. (Not that many colors look very different in the field depending on ambient conditions)

Greetings,

Here is a BattleTech Camo site that has just about all the Camo's that are referenced in all the books, tech manuals, and stories.

You can hover over the selections to get the name, click on the selection to get the Id decal and the Camo. There are also some small models that are painted showing those or similar colours, some done very well, others, not so much.
(they use a dot rating for the difficulty of detail.)

http://camospecs.com/Gallery.asp

There are a lot of units listed from all the different type of Factions, additionally there are the Clans. Some of the descriptions have details for units.

Good luck,
9erRed

No, there is not.

However, you can put a pattern and colors on a 'Mech you own (not Trials) without saving and then take a screenshot by pressing Print Screen. It will save to the User/Screenshots folder inside your main MW:O folder. Then you can upload the pics to a free site like Photobucket and then link to them in your forums. Takes about 30 seconds to do.

The only time I saw a mass camo thread was with the release of the Buccaneer camo. There should be some lingering threads around about them.

It's probably the only camo that I'd recommend.

Phranken, digital, Snow, tiger stripe are also really good on most mechs. Not to mention many more I cant think of now.
Buccaneer is overused and not tactical IMO.

So what... it gives mechs some style. Still can't do a Highlander burial though, despite the labels... :P

Every camo if done properly gives the mech some style / character, I personally like a worn out and battle hardened look. IMMERSIONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
