How's it been?
How many insanely overpowered lights are there now?
How's the impossibility of using energy weapons been doing?
What about the lagtanium plate?
How useless are PPCs and ERLL compared to ACs now?
How screwed are you if you're in an assault?

Not any different than it used to be.

Zero.

PPCs are just as badass as they've always been. ML still have the best damage:tonnage ratio in the game, and the LL is an okay weapon.

Hit detection still sucks popsickles.

PPCs are beastmode and virtually always paired with ACs. The ERLL is okay but not quite optimal.

The only assault that is "screwed" is the Awesome and *maybe* even the Atlas. Outside of that, assaults are still the strongest mechs in the game.

Everything changes...depending on what you drop in. Do you take the blue 'mech and continue to enjoy your balanced gameplay with a variety of weapons and strategies...or do you take the red 'mech and see just how deep the meta hole goes?

seriously everything has changed at least three times since closed beta. lag shield is much less than it used to be though there are still problems with hit detection. spiders are still rather borked in hit registration but not as bad as they used to be.
SRMs are bad instead of killer
lasers are pretty solid but not spectacular
PPC as has been said are one of the strongest weapons in game.

yup things have changed a lot and some of them even got better.

Did anybody mention ECM? That one is pretty important.

That and the jumpjetting assault mechs that weren't around during beta...

I'm not THAT old.

The highlander's fine and balanced, what isn't is the raven and it's freakish ECM making it impossible to hit with anything since lag-armor plus immunity to everything homing=god mode.

Well actually the ravens have had its leg hit box widened since you were here last, that legging them isn't that hard to do. The spider still takes the most effort to take down. Streaks kill lights well, so if you have something with at least 3 missile hardpoints you can take them on and they won't stick around for long. As for ECM, BAP now automatically counters that, so again it isn't an issue unless there is a more than one in the area, which is generally rare.

I'm not ashamed to say that I have a Dragonslayer with 2 AC5/2 PPC...I named it 'Metaman.' But he's the outlier ;)

Patch notes don't tell you the meta or what the numbers actually did, or their impact.
But thanks for showing me where to find the damn things anyway.

Well that's a welcome note, but I'm running low on slots so I only have 2 SSRMx2s on my stalker (The rest of it is dedicated to the massive number of DHS it's packing.

Depends...

If your a top-tier player FupDup is not entirely off base... If you're a statistical "average player" the mechanic diversity is all over the board.

I personally consider myself to be somewhere between the scrub tier ghetto and people who are good at Gundam Wing Online (maybe slightly below it)...

The expression "shit rolls downhill" proves true for mount tryhard (the name of this picture), too. Dat trickle down.

I laughed when I read that last comment. So what your saying is that it is better to not climb Mount Tryhard at all, to avoid the shit effect? I am surprised the bottom of the mountain isn't drowning by now. Poor buggers.

If you truly climb Mount Tryhard, and become a part of the golden masterrace, you now gain to ability to initiate the shit-rolling yourself, and decide what kind of shit it will be. :P
